Hey!
Today was pretty great.
I didn't sleep in all that much. At 9:30 I woke up and went with the day.
Emails, Ezekiel 5-8, Proverbs 31, then off for an awesome adventure!
I set out for a prayer walk down the main road towards the airport. I ran into a few kids and I got to try a radio control car. It was pretty sweet. The little boy kept crashing it into things though. lol. Then I continued on my way. It took me a really long time to get to the airport. It was only (as I have heard) one kilometer down the road, but I guess I stopped a lot. There were wild pea plants and raspberries. The berries were delicious. I don't think I will actually eat the peas though.
I took a different road back after. Going that way to the airport I expected to find the water treatment plant because the other day one of the kid's parents came to talk to us the day we went swimming. She advised us to go up a way to get past the treatment plant that puts water in the river and that on the other side would be a safer place to swim, upstream. I never saw a treatment plant, but way off in the distance I may have seen it. It's nowhere near the river... There's only one road left that I haven't fully explored, so I'll go that way next weekend.
On the way home I ran into one of the kids from camp. He was going to the playground, so I went with him and played with him for a while.
When I got back there were three other kids at the girl's house eating apples on their stairs. They were apparently going to go swimming soon. There was only one thing I had really planned on doing today, baking. I had tried to borrow some ingredients earlier, but the girls weren't awake, but now they were, so I borrowed some eggs, flour and margarine. The recipe called for more eggs than the girls would give me, so I ran over to the store (closed on Sundays) and ran back.
So, we went to go swimming. There was a secret dirt road I didn't know about that went along the river between the main road and the river. So I have one more road to fully explore. The place we went swimming was pretty nice. Very shallow. The tide was out a bit when we got there though. We walked along the beach to get to where we were, but on the way back there was no beach to walk on.
Finally. Baking time! They turned out really well. Egg Tarts! first time I have made them. So good. I actually had to evaporate some milk though, and I'm pretty sure that I didn't do it enough or properly. Next time I'll just buy some, or just not use any water. Everyone really liked them. I made 9 muffin sized tarts. I probably could have made 12, but I didn't make enough dough.
The door was locked when we went to church. >.> I think they went off to a retreat.
I have been writing out some songs from online so that I can play them on guitar in my free time. Today I wrote out 'One Voice', 'Power of Your Love' and 'Lift Us Up to Fall'.
So, MF has been using my laptop to charge his mp3 player a couple times, so he let me borrow some of his music. I now have a Tenth Avenue North CD. So good. The following is the song that was stuck in my head for an hour or so earlier. Lift us up to Fall:
We watched another movie and the girls made some apple crisp.
That's pretty much it for the day.
I washed my sheets and blanket.
My nose hurts.
Ttyl.
