Hey!
So, my first time in a Church service was at OCBC and I have been going there ever since, so I actually haven't been to any other congregations to worship with them. I've been to other youth fellowships and I've been to other churches, but never for a service.
Today me and M(?) went to the church building here in East Main. It's called St. Mark and it's a bit bigger then our house. There are pews and everything. There arre children's drawings on the walls. There's a stained glass of the last supper. The congregation was kinda small and kinda old, but that doesn't really matter. The only real problem was that it was 98% in Cree. So I didn't get much of it. >.> It also seems that they are kinda religious in their worship. They seem kinda Catholic. There wasn't really a sermon. They read a bunch of prayers from a book. They sang a few songs (one of them was 'Jesus Paid IT All'). They had communion with real wine.
It was interesting. I payed attention in case there ever was enough English that I could follow along, but really, I didn't understand. They read Eph 2:11-22 and Mark 6:30-34. I don't really know why though.
They never really greeted each other or us. When everyone left they shook hands with the three pastor people (there were three people that talked at the front and wore robes).
A service is just a service. In itself going to church services isn't that important. What is important is fellowship and communion with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit and other brothers and sisters in Christ; being always in close relationship with God.
So, M(?) said he'd ask this other guy if there were any house churches or anything because I'm pretty sure we won't be going back there because we didn't understand and couldn't really participate. So, I hope we can find and encourage another church.
Ttyl.

[Edit: **I forgot that I have been to one other church service before at the First Evangelical Free Church in Brooklyn, but it was very very similar to OCBC. There was some American topics in the sermon. A white pastor. The same songs we sing. Food and fellowship afterwards. Very similar. Eerily similar. =D]
