So, I guess I didn't really say, but ya. I got my lab report done on time and I was pretty happy with it.
Anyways, after staying up so late on Friday I slept in until 10, which was still only, like 6 hours, but I guess if you include 'The Shining' you get closer to 7 hours? lol.
I had to start working on my physical chemistry lab. I think I started on Friday during a break, so I had already done a bit, but I really wasn't making much progress. I think that I am the type that has a hard time starting something, but once the ball is rolling I'm gonna make it go as fast as possible. I was not going very fast. I got caught up on a couple little things. Luckily I have three lab partners to ask about these things. They aren't usually too much help, I usually end up solving my own problems, but only when I'm asking them for help. I think LF is really smart. He looks much like BD, but even sharper. The thing is, he tends to make significant mistakes and overlook them. I've helped him a few times in that type of situation.
Anyways, I had work 2-10. It's really cool now that I have a few friends at work that when I come back after not working for a couple weeks I can say hello to them and have a smile on my face. =D Umm. Ya... the bosses' praise is kinda embarassing though... >.< I don't deserve that praise. I'm just trying to be helpful. >.>
I had dinner at my parents'. I guess my mom got a bit upset when I suddenly told her I couldn't have my wisdom teeth taken out because I'll be at Winter Conference after Christmas again. >.< I guess she was just concerned that if I don't get them out, my teeth will all get messed up, I'll miss class when it becomes urgent, etc... I'll just do it over reading week. ok..?
By the way, my mom is doing pretty well, so thank you for praying.
Umm. Ya.
Sunday was really great. Worship was really great. I was really not in the mood. I really dislike it when I'm in that mood of apathy and thinking about what I am doing if my heart isn't there. But God really met me there and got me going again. I really need more quality time with Him. The worship, the sermon, God, were all there and it was good. I don't really like 'Better is One Day', especially the chorus, but it was good.
We went home after church (the couples went to Pastor DB's house..?) and I continued to work on my lab. ... bussing to church is pretty boring. But once I got there it was really good. We were reading a lot of Acts. It is definitely more than what I had originally thought of it. I mean. I thought it was a pile of names and places, but (especially after reading the Old Testament more) the speeches and amazing things happening in the book of Acts are so cool. I repent of my old thoughts of Acts.
I think I got home and finished my lab. sleeping time.
(more to come)

Testimony Time!
So, today was church. Bussing takes forever. I left around 8:35, shortly after meeting MM's family. (so funny) I got to church at 9:24. CW, my roommate had left half an hour after me and got there before me. I'll bike next week. I had bussed for a reason. I had work immediately after church, like ASAP, so I needed a drive from someone the second it finished. If I had biked I'd have to leave my bike there...
Anyways, I was in a really really bad mood this morning.
Sunday school was cancelled because KK forgot the cheese, T(?) was playing piano and JS was in Hongcouver with his girlfriend, so we hung out for a bit and then went to Starbucks. Talking with JW, I got a free Caramel Macchiato cause they made it wrong for a woman who ordered it.
We got back, set up some chairs, then service started. Guest speaker. Prodigal son. Worship. Still in a bad mood.
I knew I needed to just give it up and ask God to give me a better attitude, but I wasn't...
I was kinda forced to humble myself though, I mean I had to give a testimony. I had written a page, but that was two days ago and it was 11pm when I wrote it, and I'm not good at presenting things, especially testimonies, so I needed the Spirit to help me.
I think it went pretty well. It helped having a translator interrupt me and give me time to think. xP
So, I was thinking, 'dang, I want to share this testimony... I'll have to type it up... >.> Oh! I typed it to begin with! (out of D.Fa character.)'.

"Hey everyone! My name is Dylan and I’m in second year biochemistry at Carleton now and I was blessed to be a part of this year’s VBS to Charis EFree in Scarborough this August. I had just returned to Ottawa for the second time this summer and just a week later I was gone again. I was definitely planning that week as a break, as a relaxing time to refresh and refocus again. I wanted to spend time with my family and friends and I wasn’t preparing nearly as much as I could have. You see, since we were doing the same VBS material as last year when OCBC went to Brooklyn, I had assumed it would be easy, but I was given the role of telling the Bible Stories. I do not normally consider myself someone who can tell good stories, teach people things, clearly explain things and it was a lot to memorize too, so I really did need work. The entire week I spent hours each day working on how to tell gospel centered Bible stories. I still did not feel prepared.
Aside from the preparation before VBS, we also sat down and talked about what our goals in this week were. Our main mission was broken down into a three-letter acronym, UPI. Understand, Provide, and Inspire. Help the children come to an understanding of the gospel, of God’s love and the gift of eternal life through Jesus death and resurrection. Provide each child with their own copy of the Bible. And inspire each child to share what they’ve learned with others. We prayed that God would really use us to accomplish this and to be an encouragement to the church.
Throughout the preparation and the week we saw God answer prayer. I saw God answer prayer in placing me outside my comfort zone and growing me in an area of weakness. I saw God bring the 10 children we were praying for to the VBS this year whether they were church going children, or not, or even if it was their first time in the church, God gathered His children and answered our prayers on Sunday. We saw Him delay the storms Wednesday so we could go to the park and be a light in the community. We saw the children and youth come to a greater understanding of the gospel. We saw every child receive a New Testament. And I only found this out this week, but one of the mothers of a child at the VBS was exposed to the gospel for the first time through conversations she had with him. Also, the youth grew so much that the church even got a new youth worker for them.
Even though we weren’t fully prepared, even though we aren’t there to do follow-up or see what is happening right now, even though we aren’t perfect, God chose to use us, God uses his Spirit in our lives to speak his truths to others, God did so much more than we could have asked or imagined and He is still doing so much.
So, ya, I have been really encouraged by what I have seen happen in the lives of the children, in my life and just everything He is doing through the steps we take in faith. I’m really glad I got to experience this this year and if the opportunity comes up again, I would be really excited to go again.
Thank you for supporting us in prayer and sending us out!

And that's a rough copy of it, but ya. God is awesome. He really helped shift my attitude and when I went to work I was ready to glorify God. I worked super hard until 6:30 then I went home for supper, went back to work, came home for pie and now I'm at my house with a large pile of leftovers. lol.

Dread and Joy
"I've dread this more than I've dreaded anything else in my entire life."
Well, I haven't dread this that much, but I didn't want it to happen. I'm starting to get behind in my school work... >.> I'm trying to be really keen and get things done, do readings, etc. For two or three days in a row now I have not done any work at home. Actually things I wanted to do and planned for that weren't homework are also being shirked.
I meant to go buy groceries yesterday after getting home from school, but, for the purposes of being home at a reasonable hour so I could call some people, I had to leave to play tennis with my brother before buying groceries. In the end I came home with two big bags of groceries from my parents' house. lol
All my labs this week seem to be introductory labs, not actually doing anything, so I haven't had to really do pre-labs except for my plant biology class and that lab is going to be a piece of cake. The entire semester just cutting up plants, staining them with dyes and then looking at them under the microscope. lol. interesting, easy and awesome. lol
Umm. Ya, last night when I got home around 7:20 I procrastinated until 8, but then I started doing more follow-up calls and getting more meetings set up. I got four more meetings scheduled and I have another guy to call later today that I texted yesterday. So, that is awesome. xP
The meeting I just had an hour ago went really well. MD is really cool. He is originally from India, but grew up in Dubai and now lives with his uncle in Barrhaven. It's a bit of a commute to Carleton from there, but that's cool. He doesn't have a cell phone yet though. xP He was really interested in getting involved. He even asked for another magazine so that he could share it with one of his friends!
So far so good. Got a lab to go to.

Getting Back on Track
Hey. Today, or rather this weekend I hope to do all my prelabs for the coming week. I have done none today. First I had a large helping of No Name Quick Oats which I bought 2.25kg of the other day. I also have a kilo of sugar, so I should be okay. After breakfast we went to the Food Court on 2nd floor University Centre on campus for follow-up training and data entry. There are so many people interested in meeting up with us again! It's so exciting! And I get to help! Both scary and very exciting. I can't wait to meet these people and talk with them. I'm kinda worried that my schedule will kill any free time I have though, so I may not end up being able to help very much... We had pizza for lunch. Don't ask about the last four pieces. I don't know what happened to them. >.> I put them down at the bus station then chased after a bus. Anyways, I bussed a really long way around the city to get to worship practice.
[I just realized I wasn't finished posting this. lol]
Worship practice was really good. It was me, AL's brother AL, PE and NE on worship team. We went through the songs quickly and went home early. They drove me home. Then I was going to go play tennis with my brother. JS had asked if he could borrow my racket. It wasn't home yet, so I made Kraft Dinner for supper. I ran off to tennis. I thought the courts were way closer than they are... We played. It was a lot of fun. I went to my parents'. Ate ice cream and got a drive home with leftovers. xP I need to go buy some food...

First Frosh Finale

Hey guys!
Super crazy week this one has been!
Saturday 8am-5pm
We were on campus moving half of the students into residence. It was a really great time of getting to interact more with my team and getting to work together with the other facilitators. The main thing that made me think was just how much of a great service it is having all the facils helping move people into res. You pull up in a minivan packed to the egdes with bags, boxes, clothes, books, etc. with just you, and your parents. The task of moving in might take a while. 5 minutes later you are done. How? The 20 facils that grabbed a box moved it all in one trip! All of them with smiles and a desire to help welcome you and give a hand. I really enjoyed this day and just getting to see all the excited first year students got me really pumped!
Sunday 8am-1am
Repeat of yesterday. I wore different shoes because I got blisters from my converses. lol. By the end of the day everyone starts getting really tired. There was a meal for off campus frosh and we got to meet them for a bit although a bunch didn't end up participating in most of the week. At 7 or something Ravenpalooza happened. It was like a pep rally and there was also Second City doing improv and sketch comedy. After that was the much video dance! I got to meet a couple frosh and patrolled around the room. The dance was really fun. We also walked people home, either to res or their cars or a little further. Safety precautions. I was dead tired when I got home. I got a drive home which is awesome because it started pouring. lol
Monday 8am-2am
Roundup the frosh by pounding on their doors and chanting Slinky cheers! We got to meet and talk to our frosh for the first time. Asian guy with super British accent, what?! It doesn't work in my head. I think he's impersonating a Beatle. >.> Umm. A workshop and a play. Also at the same time we were scrambling to move in the last 500 students into the new incomplete res building. Then we all went off to the canal and had canal games! Fun carnival style games pitting team against team. Always included a cheer off and then we'd switch stations and do it again. Games included inflatable obstacle courses, a dunk tank, a real life battleship game. Then we prepared for the team dance competition. LOL. E(?) was so stressing out about our choreography. At the end of the dance was a cheer and they all did really well. All 17 teams used a different song! Except for 'Teach me how to Douggy'. >.> Then dinner time. Afterwards was CU@Night! Two dances, BINGO!, Trevor Boris, and Karaoke. It was a lot of fun too. Afterwards me and AL walked a couple engineer students most of the way home. They live a little further than me, so we walked together to my house then split ways. So tired. lol.
Tuesday 8am-11pm
Wake up! Then we all went off to that grassy area by the uncovered teepee and had a 'Spirit Roundup' where every team did a lot of cheering and there were two competitions (I think) the Burp-Off and Pudding Eating contests. Either way, afterwards we all walked along the canal down to the beaches! It was beach day! The main events were sand castle building and cheer competition, volleyball, and dodgeball. There was free redbull and other stuff too. We spent a lot of time working on our castle. We got to work right away and made an amazing sandcastle! (Ours was the only castle!!!) All the others were really good too. Umm. After we went back and had dinner. Then we rounded up the frosh and went to the concert!! Stereokid and Down with Webster! 'Whoa!' It was a lot of fun. I was in the middle of the crowd with NC and JC (same last name. lol) great concert, but Stereokid may have been better musicians.

Wednesday 6pm-11pm
Ok. Wednesday I woke up at 8 and got to work. I had to prepare for school. I hadn't bought any books or even knew where my classes were yet. I got a lot done. I went to the bookstore and I don't really remember a lot of it. lol. Then I had dinner with JC and one of his friends. Also a trombone player! Then I had to go roundup the Slinkys to go to the Expo! What is the Expo? It is where pretty much all the organizations, clubs, Societies, and campus groups get together and show the frosh what they are, give out free things and have contests. It was pretty wild. So many people in such a small space. I didn't get very much free stuff, but I got to see a bit about Foot Patrol and a number of other groups. After that was a (really bad) talent show of a couple groups from Carleton. The South Asian Alliance Dance group was okay. They won 500$ for their club. Last of the night was 'MTV's The Buried Life'. Reading this on the schedule I thought 'Oh no... MTV. This is going to be bad.' They are really cool four guys who in their own circumstances came to think about their lives and what they wanted to do before they died. They wrote a list of 100 things and started getting to work completing them. It started as a two week trip, but it got extended over and over. They also along the way decided they should help others achieve their dreams. They have helped a lot of people with a number of really cool projects. One of the things on their list was to have a television show. Eventually they signed on to MTV when they were approached, but they told them that they'd be in control of the episodes and filming and everything. So it's still a good show, just on MTV. lol.
Thursday 10am-1:30am
First day of classes! I had one lecture in the morning. Organic Chemistry with my prof is going to be awesome. No textbooks. Just the lecture slides and schedules all printed and bound into an 80$ book of things we actually need. He's a really cool prof too. I got to help JS with the current C4C outreach contest '$1000 in Change' campaign by handing out short surveys and talking to people a bit for a couple hours. Later I went to get more books. The bookstore's lines were sooooo long. Then I went home to see my mom. She has been back since Sunday morning and she is much better. She is having a bit of a vision problem, but she is mobile and eating and feeling much better. She had been off her feet for a long time though, so she's getting readjusted to walking. This is a chance to start over. She's lost a lot of weight, lost a lot of pills, is eating better. Keep praying for her. Then I got a drive to school for some follow-up training for the campaign. Then I had Stats at 6. It ended early and there was no lab that night. Then roundup for the Ravens basketball game against California. There were so many frosh that the facils were kicked out of the stands. I read the Un.Cover magazine which speaks about our cravings and how they can point to there being a source of these cravings and something that can satisfy them. We won the game! Then we went off to Alumni Park on campus to watch ToyStory3! I ended up talking with two of the frosh most of the time though even after the movie was done. One of them is from Iqaluit and has a lot of crazy stories. They both like curling and theyb talked about that for way too long. >.>

Friday 7am-11pm
First up, pancake breakfast! It was really good. I kinda slept in a bit, so I didn't do any round up. After it was time to Shine! Friday was Shine day. You see, every year Carleton University donates a large amount to Shinearama, a foundation that does Cystic Fibrosis research. Today's schedule was empty except for shining, meaning going and collecting spare change donations from people all over the city. I had chem class at 10 though, so I went to that. KG is in my phys chem class. We went to Haven to get some books. 'They are upstairs and there is no room on the shelves right now until these books are sold. Come back next week.' Kinda annoying, but the design book I was reading in the check-out line was interesting. Then I was caught by another slinky who was shining, so I helped her for a couple hours. When another slinky came and took her place I left too and did some homework. Then C4C had their first weekly meeting! I thought I was excited for the frosh I had met so far, but it was super exciting getting to meet frosh who already are ready to do ministry and join C4C in helping other students discover Jesus. Summit is at the end of the month and I really want to go! Lastly was the Closing Ceremony. There was a Shine Auction. Things were stolen from Vice-Heads and sold back to them for Shinearama donations. lol. A bunch of awards, three bands and a lot of stuff. Tympanic was really good. A latin feel, good vocals and good playing, a SAXOPHONE! They were really good. And that was it.
I got NY and AM's cell numbers. I still need to get S(?), M(?), T(?), S(?) and R(?)'s cell numbers. I have a very irrational idea that if I don't get some contact info from the frosh I met, that I will never see them again. I know they are in Prescott, but I can't just walk in. Also I feel that my schedule is hard to work with. It seems I have 8 labs every two weeks instead of the 3 from last year. >.> It's gonna be an experience, but God will be doing so much this year! I can't wait!
This was my first frosh week and it was so good. I can't wait to do it again! (if I can) I'm pretty stoked at how much God has changed me since this summer started. But now it's fall and it's time to keep changing. lol.

I was offered a Gatorade, so I guess it's okay.
When you are a mover, as I learned from Seinfeld, you are supposed to be offered a drink. One guy actually did offer us some of his gatorades.
Anyways, today I had a whole day, whole body workout. This was accomplished by day 1 of students moving into residence at Carleton. Frosh Facils apparently bond and cheer and act over the top this weekend in preparation for frosh week. Well, actually, the majority of people in res are frosh, so this is technically frosh week now. >.>
So. The way this worked was I woke up early, walked to school, waited at the meeting place, and then the day began. We would all eagerly await the cars that would pull up. Then we'd chant 'Pop That Trunk!' with claps on the words. Cheer enthusiastically as it popped open. Ask where it was going, then take an armful of stuff. Drag it up the stairs, or wait for the elevator (in which case we'd practice being sardines. literally sealed and packaged with oil) and get to their door. We'd then have a drum roll as they reach for their keys and go to swipe. As it opens, more enthusiastic cheering. Welcoming and kind words as we unload and leave. Run down the stairs. Redo.
At the start of the day I was not happy about being there. I was not happy about not knowing anyone on my team.
Hauling massive amounts of clothes, water bottles and various other stuff all over the res was a lot of fun. I went to Prescott, Renfrew, Lanark, Frontenac and Leeds! When I went to Leeds (which is on the other side of the campus basically) it was to help an international student from India who had just got to school from the airport after a 36 hour flight! I'm really glad that Carleton has an ISC to help International Students.
Umm. Ya. By the end of the day I was so pumped to be out there and just meet these first year students! I'm really glad I have signed up for the Language Exchange Program and the Orientation Mentorship Program! I'm really excited to get out there and start mentoring and maybe even discipling first year guys!
I also got to see three of my friends and help them move in. DK, SC and CC.
Anyways, I need to sleep again. I also need to buy books eventually... >.> When? Who knows. >.>

PS. I think it's pretty awesome that I didn't burn out today. 9 hours of hard labour and having a smile on my face the whole time. I didn't have breakfast either. lol. Thank God for getting me through it!
PPS. My mom is going home tomorrow. Pray for her. She's going to be very weak. She's been in a bed for nearly two weeks. Very thankfully, however, she is going home and the whole problem with [prescription/over the counter] drugs and stuff is worked out and she should be way better off than she was before.

Rolling in the Deep
Okay, so I'll admit that I'm not exactly the most up to date person when it comes to pop culture or new artists or anything. The other day I watched the Much Music video awards. Who is Adele..? That was my main question aside from many others. KFA said that she was pretty famous. lol. I haven't heard of her.
Anyways, Sunday was the church picnic at Vincent Massey Park. Another new brother and sister baptised showing their faith in Jesus and their choice to have a new life in Him. I was so happy for them. He had a young family and looked so excited to be getting baptised. I hope he sees how much his life is blessed.
I'd been really tempted ever since I got back from Toronto. A whole amazing week of doing something worthwhile and life changing for these children. There was no time for any sin. lol. Then I got back and there's been nothing but time. >.< And I can only be OCD so much of the day.
I actually ended up talking to RM who talked at Getaway about sin. He encouraged me.
Mostly all I have been doing is cleaning, watching anime, playing tennis, going to the hospital and sleeping. I saw my old Chemistry and Biology teacher today by the tennis courts. In an attempt to not be seen or recognized I avoided eye contact and removed my glasses. This worked for a little while, but he was doing stretches and so he had a lot of time to figure it out. GG asked about my summer and my jobs and stuff. In the end he went off jogging up and down Argue Drive. The thing was that I couldn't put my glasses back on because he would then see me wearing them. >.< So I had to play for a while without glasses. I actually think my sight has gotten a bit better. He doesn't know my brother yet, but he will. lol. He said to say hi to everyone, but I didn't want to text anyone and it's always really awkward saying someone says hello.
By the way, Adele has a few songs. The one that was nominated a lot 'Rolling in the Deep' is pretty good.
However, I actually saw my friend's cover first and I still think it is very good. Especially for them, it is one of their best covers so far. I think JG is getting better at singing. Although she apparently still hasn't had those singing lessons she said she would. >.>
Anyways,

PS. YA was really cool. RL and DW were both there which was awesome. DW leaves in a few days for MacMaster. RL has a number of things to think / worry about but is content. Pray for them.
PPS. My mom is physically better. However, she isn't really thinking properly... So keep her in your prayers. She may be there for a few more days. She is not looking forward to it. She isn't sleeping during the nights. She doesn't like the hospital food. She has nothing to do with her time there. I don't want to see her in this state. I love her and want her to get better.

VBS!
Yo, I got back in Ottawa a little bit ago.
VBS was kinda really intense. 5 days from 7:30am to 8 or 8:30 in the church. Only 4 teachers. A godsent 5 youth volunteers and a bunch of aunties and uncles. It was a sprint from one thing to the next, but the youth really helped give us some breaks. Whenever we felt really tired, they were there taking our places.
Truly God has been answering prayers all week. We got the 10 kids we needed. I got stretched into doing things I wouldn't have. We had our great weather for the park trip. The church was really encouraged by this VBS. The youth, which are now five kids instead of three are really solid and are all great friends now, so much so that the church is looking for a youth worker so that they can grow.
Last day was good. Finding the day's mission involved popping massive amounts of balloons, so we blew a lot up and a bunch of people (after RL did it first) drew faces and stuff on them. He made them emotionally connect with balloons we were gonna pop. >.< One girl was like 'No. Don't pop the blue one!' and the girl who was currently popping hit that one really hard. >.<
The kids weren't really paying attention during the story.
They answered all the questions during the review game though. Poor FY... He answered all the right answers, but gave away all his points. >.> For a ten year old, he really knows a lot about the Bible. And I love his accent. lol. He did win the game even if it was a close one and everyone got prizes anyways, because the point of the game is not who knows the most or has the most points, but that they all know God loves them and sent Jesus to die for their sins, raising him from the grave and giving us the choice to become children of God.
I'm apparently too good at playing 'graveyard'.
We watched the end of the Incredibles. Then we started filling water balloons. lol. Mine were all full. The girls however didn't really make them big enough. We went to the park for water games. RL was getting pretty angry at anyone who soaked him. lol.
We got back and it was almost time for the open house. They made some fruit kabobs. I gave them their prizes (candy) and then it was time for a summarized presentation to some parents and friends of the kids. Super Cooper had his final showing. Maintenance Mac had a summary of all the missions and Bible stories. The kids all sang and danced for everyone (so cute!). AL did a gospel spotlight / rope trick which went very well. Then we had dinner with everyone although we became slightly segregated. There were four tables and it was mainly parents, kids, youth then Ottawa...
Such great changes this week though. M(?) voluntarily popcorn prayed Friday morning! A(?) prayed for the lunch. The volunteers all really bonded. The kids grew too and we grew.
I think I love Charis EFree Church now. I didn't really want to leave. I wanted to be able to help more with outreach and discipling (not that I know much). But I can't really just drop everything and live in Scarborough. >.>
Modern Family with RL and MC. So good.
Today was sleeping in until 8. Packing. Breakfast. Debreif. Prayer. Lunch. Egg Tart! Playing with Tina who bit me a lot. >.< Then off to the bus station. The bus was significantly late.
Slept most of the bus ride. Read the rest of it.
Grandma made us a lot of Baozi. <3
I'm gonna miss Scarborough.

PS. Pray for my mom. She has basically been a slave to prescription medication and over the counter drugs for a while and since she has been in the hospital to look at her stomach, the doctors, seeing all the medication she was taking looked into it and she had been overdosing. A lot. So she's off all of them right now. A drug holiday, and she is suffering from withdrawl right now. She's a little bit out of it. I know that God got her to go to the hospital for a reason. Pray for her.

太大了!
So. Brief update because I'm dead tired.
Yesterday was the second day of VBS here in Toronto and it was another good day. A little less organized making me think back to Quebec and how it was always semi-chaotic and tiring, but yesterday was still very good. The volunteers continue to become more involved and take the baby-sitting aspect off our hands.
Yesterday's mission was heroes take action. The message was written on garbage bag capes. Later in the day we converted them into a volleyball net and I thought that it was super cool. I really wanted to play real volleyball, but the VBS isn't for me to be playing, it's for us to encourage and build up these kids. So it means playing for the purpose of giving those other kids the opportunity to play, especially the shorter or less aggressive players in volleyball's case.
Anyways, B(?) is super cute everyday. Getting cuter everyday. She loves balloons. Played with one for over an hour yesterday.
We attempted to make jello with pineapple pieces in it. The recipe book almost definitely wants the jello to set before inserting pineapple. You see there are enzymes in the pineapple that fight the gelatin effectively keeping it from jello-fying properly. So, we put them in the freezer. Today they were kinda slushie like. Most of the kids hacked at them for a while then gave up. lol
Yesterday night me and AL went downtown to the ex to meet up with TL, RW and LA. Problem: we are from Ottawa. Bussing, subway-ing and streetcar-ing was a very trying task. We had to buy bus coins or whatever they are called and it took a really long time to get there. We technically had a curfew of 10:30. We got home a bit after midnight. That time with them wasn't really enough, but it was still a great time. Everything was so expensive. We had a Swiss waffle with ice cream and strawberries as a substitute for funnel cake, we went on a 6$ ride, then we found funnel cakes and had one. We found out why it's a funnel cake. LA is exactly the same.
Anyways, TL took the subway with us and then his dad gave us drives. So good! Thanks! Anyways, problem: I don't know where I live. lol. I knew we turn right, go up a slight incline, turn right again and then it's the house to the left, but ya... lol. It was funny. I'm really glad I didn't have to bus home. I'm also very very glad AL didn't have to bus home.
Today started on time. I woke up and thought 'I want to sleep. Five more minutes. No. Will not work. Just get up.' So much more efficient. After like 5 hours of sleep for both me and RL (because he was skyping/ I made him stay up so I could get into the house) we were dead tired. Baozi.
Camp. Posters keep falling and more tape keeps going up. Another awesome day. We were going to go to the park in the afternoon, so we prayed for good weather. Terrible weather was forecast. It rained a bit in the morning, but dried up for the afternoon and it was sunny and nice when we went. I got to meet some new kids who were also at the park. This one four year old was so funny. He liked swinging, so we did that for a while. B(?) didn't want to go in the little swings because 'they are for babies', but wanted to go higher on the normal swings. We didn't think it was really safe, so we had to convince her otherwise. RL attempted to get into one of the little swings and I pushed him. lol. He was too big, so I told J(?) 'tai da le' with the little mandarin I have learned and he laughed so much. lol. So we kept laughing and pointing at RL for a while. xP I also got to talk to another couple kids. They are so cool. lol. One was asking about the VBS and when it was. He apparently goes to a 3 hour-a-day golf camp that cost like 300$ or something. I'm sure he could join us in the afternoons. I hope he does. We played grounders. It was a lot of fun.
Anyways, we get back. Oh! Before the park we watched a veggie tales movie. It was really funny. lol. My first veggie tales movie! So we got back and turned on a movie. Everyone was lying on the floor exhausted.
Time for P Mall!!! Pacific Mall in Markham. I'd been hearing all about it for a couple years and was so excited that we got to go. We wandered around for a while and in the end met several of AL's CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) friends. They were all really cool people. It was a great dinner. TC drove us to AL's host family through the pouring rain and thunder!
Prayer meeting. Sweet. More rain and lightning. Warning for hurricanes and thunderstorms in Toronto apparently. Thank God for giving us good weather for the park!
My mom went through a surgery today to figure out what the deal was with something and it's not nearly as bad as it could have been. I sent out a text to my EAP family to pray for her the hour before. Keep praying.
Pray for RL.

Heroes Take Action!
Another long day and it's still only Tuesday.
I wasted time at home, having done none of my homework for the night. I was supposed to write up summary sheets for the five stories. A list of events, how to expand upon them and how to tie the gospel into the story. I didn't work on them last night and I wasted this morning, so after talking with AP a bit and going to VBS training I ended up doing it for the majority of the time that I was at RL and CL's house. (lol. RL and CL describes all of the people in that house). RL was working mainly on memory verse review time games and stuff and CL was mainly working on brainstorming things to pray for while we are in Toronto.
The second Bible story is about the birth of Jesus and the shepards to which the angels appear telling them about Jesus' birth. The shepards acted as heroes by TAKING ACTION! Although they weren't very popular or even respected, they left their flocks to go see Jesus and even went out to the streets and told everyone about it!
Not as much material to work with in this story, but it will be good.
My dad gave us a drive to YA and it was a good evening. We talked about the body of the church and how the many different and unique parts come together to form the body. The main action point we took from the passage (1 Cor 12:12-27) was about giving special honour to the parts of the body that are not as visible, such as administration or parents that open their houses for fellowships or maybe A/V people, or other things like that. We are planning on getting thank you cards and gifts for some such people on a regular basis.
It's almost tomorrow. >.> VBS training at my new house.

The Past / Present / Future
So, right now I still haven't done much of the stuff I need to do immediately, but I did do one thing. I applied to be a facil next year. Then I found out there was an interview. lol...
It turns out that the interview is the same day as Getaway ends. My interview is at 5 and we get back 'around 4'... sketchy. Also, I'm now thinking, what if I haven't had a shower all weekend..? >.>
Ya, I went 'sharing' with CW today. I use quotations because it didn't really end up being too spirtual, more just talking, but that's cool. lol. I found out that KG goes to church. I should talk to him more in the future about the gospel and the spirit filled life and tell him about C4C and stuff. lol.
Also, today I went to my parents, had dinner, and went to watch my brother and a number of other people his age play Jazz in Kanata. I miss playing trombone. and yet it is still under my bed... They did pretty well.
Ya.
Ttyl. xP A day full of worship tomorrow! Awesome!

21. Wow.
So.
I just finished watching 'Trust'. It was a very interesting movie. A very large percentage of the dialogue was to the point and in a direct question followed by a direct answer kind of style followed by a quick change of topic and then the same.
It was an Indie film and had non-professional actors. It really is way more real when it isn't people who are trained to act. The main actress had this really annoyingly squeaky high pitch voice. But that is real. XP
On another note my family is considerably less insane than either of the families in the movie.
Also, there is a lot of problems in this world. A lot of problems. Finding a boyfriend / girlfriend is not the solution. Getting your kids to do all the work for you is not the answer. Being 'in control' of the world around you is not the cure. Knowing all the problems is not going to fix them.
Sometimes, 1000 characters is not enough to fully get whatever I'm thinking about across, this is especially the case if I don't really know what I am typing while I am typing it, I mean if I'm just going off of my head. And because there isn't a bunch of stuff I need to write down, I don't feel the need to write a second text post... This however leads to me trying to wrap up as soon as I can once I get to around 960 characters.
In any case, the point is that this world is messy. Based on what I saw in the movie, I thought, that a personal relationship of love, trust, respect and admiration would be a dandy solution. However, on a second thought, it really wasn't. The world was still messy. Very messy.
What if this messy world was it..? What if we had to just deal with it, as I have often said..? I'm pretty sure that for the next week or so, I will be doing a short series of posts (possibly with some random phone posts in between, but I hope not) about
people, life, God, and some stuff that is super important.
Ya. xP...

PS. I was thinking "1990 that's a pretty old movie, eh? The movie is 21 years old." and AL says something that made me realize I am 19. I just said 21 was old. 19 is old. My world just exploded.

No Probl..... I Mean... Thank You..?
So guys, whatsup..?
You know what..? I got like 5.5 hours of sleep! >.>
I went to work from 7-2, had a worship leader study 3-5 and then... Well, I'll get there once I'm done talking about that much.
So, I woke up and all that stuff and got to work at 7:15. I was kinda worried I'd be on the counter... I hate the counter. Luckily I was on tables, so being 15 minutes late was no major problem, the load didn't get there until like 10 anyways..? It seems that BJ had facebook stalked me and was spreading rumours that it was my birthday. Then when SB was overhearing this he said that if MM found out she'd probably announce it through the whole store. MM then entered the room and I left as quickly as possible.
Ya. BJ made me a cupcake. Isn't that sweet..? xP... I actually took a break today. I bought some reduced bruschetta and bread. Just before K(?) went back to work she commented that I looked like Jesus just sittung there breaking bread (it was a bit stale... xP) and B(?) was like 'I guess that's a compliment..?" In a very unsure tone... I really didn't have anything to say... XP
Ya. I left and immediately bussed out to westboro for the study. We were talking about skills and stuff. As usual I got there early and was stuck outside for 20 minutes. xP When AW finally got there she didn't recognize me because of my scarf. xP She made cupcakes too. xP.
All our talents are a gift from God and should be used to glorify Him, but we shouldn't be so focused on playing perfectly that we forget we are playing for Him.
So, ya. After the study I went with my parents for . . . sushi! YAY!! so good. We went to the new 168 Sushi Japan Buffet like a block from where I live. The place is big and so nice, there's water and lights and purple and it's so cool. There's the standard sushi ordering system and a menu with some pictures (I used this to explain the difference between a roll and a hand roll to my parents). The waiters and waitresses were all asian (mostly Chinese I think) and they were all really nice, but a few had a large accent that my parents could not decipher... They came and explained how to order to us.... xP I'm not that white am I..? Also, my parents are not good at using chopsticks... Have I said yet that my brother fell asleep which is why he wasn't there..? xP. Ya. Lame. Anyways, ya. The sushi was really good. The restaurant got really busy by around 6:30ish so it is very good that we got there when we did. I would highly recommend the restaurant to any sushi enthusiast or otherwise.
Ya. After that we went home and I just talked with my parents for a bit while watching the habs games and eating chocolate cake. xP...
I got another few loaves of bread and some spaghetti. xP Ya. I hadn't been home since 7. I also hadn't checked my email..... I had a lot of messages! I responded to all of them! I actually can see this as a chance to get back in touch with a bunch of people I have not talked to in a while. xP Facebook. It is overrated and yet it is a very cool thing sometimes. My opinion has changed.
Ya. Ttyl.

YF FTW! / Loving Family
So, ya.
EFCC Conference here in Scarbourough has been cool. I honestly was probably not paying enough attention to the first two talks, but when I saw stats I was like completely paying attention. XP Maybe I should be a statistitian..? XP Maybe. XP
So, ya. After the stats talk and brief discussion we went out for Chinese food. I had Peking duck for the first time. It was good.
We then went for YF at the church we were staying at, HCEFC..? Hallelujah. XP I havn't actually been to YF in almost a year. We were in different groups. My group was doing a book study and it was cool. It was about prayer and everyone was at least talking most of the time. One girl not as much, but they were almost always laughing.
Hallelujah just gives off this great feeling. Everyone is just shiny for lack of a better word. One thing that is just so cool about the church (the people not the building), no matter where you go you have a large loving family.
Ya. Today, if only for YF, was amazing.

Winter Conference: Commence!
So,
The first main session ended a few minutes ago or so and now after some breif exploring we are going to play monopoly deal... XP
I accidentally texted my parents an "XP" and they did not know what it meant.... And I did not feel like explaining so I told them to ask my brother.
It's a bit odd now that my parents have a cell phone that I can instantly inform them of what I am doing, except that would be weird, so I'm not. XP
Worship in a mass crowd is the best. XP

Rice Deficit
So, hey. Whats up..? nm..? me either... xP...
I seem to answer "what's up?" based on how busy I am at the moment compared to other times, but I usually am only asked that question when I am between things, like I just got to Loeb cafe and I'm not going to work on the pile of homework for like half an hour, so I'm not doing much right now, even though I have a lot to do, like studying for a CHEM midterm. >.>
Ya. I am a yes person. I will almost always agree to do something if I am asked to. I always have a busy schedule and I will just try to fit more in. I always can. Usually by taking something 'less important' out, such as sleeping a couple more hours or unintentionally taking out a meal or taking out all my textbook readings... xP or I will just do work on the bus instead of relaxing for 20 minutes. I've just become used to this constant unprepared last-second finish for everything. It seems to work out, but only to a satisfactory degree.
I really hate focusing on one thing. I'd rather have a tiny bit of a million things... >.>
Today someone asked me if I was excited for christmas. I responded "not really" and he was all like "Isn't this your time of year..?"
1. It's Movember. not even near christmas.
2. I hate how comercial it is.
3. You don't get excited just at Christmas. You should always be excited that Christ died to forgive your sins and give you freedom from sin.
But ya... it felt funny. That conversation.
Yesterday I went out for supper with my parents for my dad's birthday. We went to "Siam Kitchen" and my parents ordered way too much... xP So when we were going to leave, they packed it all up into doggy bags and said "Oh, we'll give you rice" with a smile. I only opened the bag today. There were 3 big plates and 2 smaller bowl-like containers. There were 4 dishes and then rice, but when they say "o, we'll give you rice", you would think there would be enough for the stuff we were taking. I did not. I mean there was so much stuff left and there was not room for all the rice we would need in the bag they gave us.
Was there enough rice..? No. Not at all. One of the small containers had rice in them. That was not even enough for the other small container of stuff. Luckily JR had some rice, so he gave me some and I gave him some stuff. Free leftovers are pretty good. Especially if it's asian food. xP Yum.
Ya... I'm in Math class. I am not following our prof at all........ Integration doesn't make sense in my mind... xP...

Have You Ever III..?
Have you ever voted without knowing anything about who you were voting for..?
Well, I kinda just did... XP....
I had really only heard anything about the mayoral candidates from my parents and my brother. I only knew that no one likes the current mayor, the Andrew Hayden (who named the park) had some plan for busses and that my parents were both voting the same way...
I knew nothing about the councillors or the trustees...
xP.... Whatever... It's one vote.

Of Bikes and Midterms.
So,
These last couple days have been up and down. Up and down mount Tiverton to be exact. It seems that my posting has been procrastinated by a series of more pressing matters / unfourtunate circumstances. I either have tried to start blogging and my laptop kinda restarted or I really had to study for my CHEM midterm... but in my free time while I should be studying Friday I biked to school after bussing home for lunch.
So, ya.
Yesterday was the first time I'd biked anywhere in like 7 years or something.
1. It is true, you never forget how to ride a bike.
2. You don't get any better at riding a bike by not riding one for 7 years.
3. Your legs really hurt after riding a bike to school after not biking for 7 years.
4. I'm still not good at going up hills on a bike.
5. Riding a bike on the roads is soooo scary.
6. It's kinda cold. My head and hands were kinda cold after biking.
7. I still am really scared of taking my hands off the handles.
8. My parents didn't like the fact that I had biked without a helmet.
9. My mom bought me a helmet.
10. I have a bike lock so that I don't have my bike stolen again.
11. It's like being able to 'drive' a two-wheeled car without a license.
I actually just went to buy milk. With my bike it takes like a couple minutes. xP
So, ya. Friday I had CHEM at 8:30-9:30, PHYS 10:30-11:30, a CHEM tutorial 11:30-12:30 and a CHEM midterm 6:30-8:00. Some people studied in every spare moment they had. I just cannot study on the day of tests/exams. I just can't. So, I went home at like 2 so I could eat something before the midterm. I decided to bike back. I actually had the chain get off the gears like a block from my house... xP After that everything was cool... except the hill and the fast cars flying by me.... xP
Anyways, the midterm was okay. Short answers had a lot of random stuff because our prof is really into atmospheric chemistry, but other than that everything was okay. Just before we started the proctor was like "If any of you has a cell phone on your person, you are currently in violation of the standards for exam writing. If this is the case, please stand up, walk to the back of the room and put them in your bags quietly." Half the room stood up.
After the midterm I went to CW's and we hung out. We had pasta, played Forza (I completely failed at it...... I could not go like 20 seconds without crashing and I was always spinning..... xP...) and just talked with JS and DK. They talk about really weird things.... xP
I biked home and got home at like 12. I did not go home the same way I went to school though. I went around by Viewmount on the way back. xP Much flatter.
This morning I woke up at like 11, read a book for a bit, finished rewatching 'Amelie' and then I went to my parents' for lunch (and other reasons like getting the rake for tommorow and getting new glasses, but a large reason was the free food. xP)
I probably have stuff to do, but just chilling once in a while is okay, right?
Did I mention the 'worship potluck' on Thursday for YA..? Again I failed at bringing anything, but some of the other stuff they shared was really cool and I helped sing the songs CW was playing on guitar although everyone was kinda.... >.>
JS was saying how he feels that we are his brothers / sisters. Like really I think of RL as a little brother and CW as a big brother. I havn't really been missing my parents or brother too much... I know that sounds bad, but I guess it might be because a) I do see them every once in a while and b) I have another family, the church. It really should be all one family... >.>
Anyways, this is my new favourite song at the moment. I enjoy whistling to it in a really high pitch. xP

Part 1
So, I do want to recreate that post... It won't be exactly the same, but I still think it would be worth sharing.
So, the first point was that I get to go to Winter Conference at the end of December! It's a C4C event that takes place in Toronto for five days. We stay in hotels and everything. We also do some training and door to door evangelism.
JB said it was really cool even though she was pushed out of her comfort zone (which may seem bad at the time, but is usually good. That is how we grow.). So, ya... I think JB is pretty cool. She always seems level headed...
Anyways... WC might be a bit expensive... XP......... I'm gonna have to either use the food money my parents have been giving me (they are giving me way too much money for food, but I don't even want to use it...) or just work a bit more (not a desire of mine, unless a get a fun new job! =D which I can't really get until my hair grows back...) ... DX
So, ya...
More of the amazing post with added content later.

Date Night
Heyo.
Today was my baptism.
I seriously don't know why I was so freaking nervous. I couldn't even see anyone...
One really cool thing though is that I was actually cleaner after it. xP I mean I didn't have any sandals or anything, so my feet got really dirty before my baptism.... xP but after my feet were clean, and I felt cleaner.
I don't like being the centre of attention very much...
My parents came for my baptism, but left immediately after... xP just like every concert after grade 9. xP I'd stay and clean up / put away everything and they'd go home...
I didn't have any plans today because it was going to be the church picnic at Vincent Massey park, but was cancelled due to weather, so we went to Pho' Maxim. I like pho' but everytime I always put in way too much hot sauce... this is one reason why I always order bubble tea. xP except this time it wasn't bubble tea, it was a durian milkshake. xP So good. AW was like "can I smell it?" so she did and made an expression of disgust. xP L(?) is cool. He told me that today wasn't just about me making a commitment, it was also about God declaring that I am his or something. xP
After Pho' I went home, procrastinated a bit, then CW came over. We just talked for a while, then we played Halo. xP Me and CW aren't great at Halo...... In the end we were playing in a mode where you build the area or something, so one guy was kinda cheating the whole time and we didn't figure it out until JK told us. xP Then it just got messed up and CW just kept dying... xP it went to like 150 to 20... then we were all bored of it. Some people take so much joy in killing other people in video games...
We went to DQ. I got a mint milkshake (yum. I ALWAYS get a mint milkshake. Always.) and saw EK.
We then watched Date Night. It's kinda ridiculous. xP Steve Carrel is funny. xP
So, ya. I got time to hang with my housemates (minus RL who just got back from Waterloo) and just chill. Real school starts this week. class every morning at 8:30... fml. jk.
