Time Management.

So, yesterday.

As usual I had a ton of things scheduled. I actually finished my organic chemistry prelab the night before, so I didn't have any really urgent school work to do. xP

I bussed to school. That was awkward. It was (at least according to a group on facebook) 'sing on the bus day'. I was so excited to get on the bus and just have everyone singing. Did not happen... and I didn't want to be the only person singing... and I hadn't really prepared anything... So I was like singing really quietly............... awkward.

Physical chemistry lecture. boring.

Then I was supposed to meet up with LT for our one on one discipling time. Class had ended a bit early and LT is often a bit late, so I figured that I had time to go heat up my leftovers for lunch. It was like stir-fried vegetables and clam chowder on rice. Mmm. Ya. He arrived and we continued to try and set goals for the year. I am bad at sitting down and setting goals. Like, I see the purpose of goals, but I am terrible at setting them non-spontaneously. I say non-spontaneously because I do set goals based off of experiences and what is happening and what I want to happen.

Like, ya, so, this week was supposed to be 'the swan dive' and so I made myself available to the best of my ability for the other first year guys and stuff. I offered multiple time slots everyday of the week and told them to message me if they were able to / wanted to go with me. I did not hear back from anyone. The only time I went sharing was when me and LT ran into DP and so we went. So, I set a goal. Instead of them coming to me, which they still can, I will actively pursue them and (here's the goal) go sharing with each of the other guys in C4C by the end of the year. If that means 20 or so guys, let's go. We've got like 13 weeks next semester and a week left or so. That's plenty of time. xP (especially with only 3 labs next semester. yuss.)

Ya. So, I guess (if you can't tell) I have a lot of issues with time management, but I guess I don't really associate them with so called 'spiritual growth' goals. I guess I have in my mind divided how I live and treat myself from my relationship with God..? That, that's not really good. He is Lord of all. My life should reflect that and ya, every aspect should be worship to him. So, I guess LT challenged me to do something about my time management.

The challenge: Write down what I spend my time on for a week (or two..?) while also getting 7 hours of sleep each day (or trying to).

So, you know. I really want to do this, I suppose. I mean, it's something I really need to work on and so I want to be committed to it. So, to make sure I am committed to it I bought a notebook, a pocket-sized notebook. But not even one of those dollar store ones that I can just throw away or whatever. I bought a set of two mini Moleskine notebooks. Now I am committed. I didn't buy them just because of all the hype behind moleskines, but also because they were the smallest notebooks I could find in the bookstore and that they were expensive... T.T I am not one to buy unnessecary things, especially expensive ones. It was 8$. I am committed. lol.

So, ya. Let's see how that goes. I'm trying, like, down to the minute, but not quite that intense. Just like whenever the focus switches. I'll do a bunch of analysis later. (I like data analysis =D)

Yup. Then I got to meet up with KC again. I'm really glad I get to spend time with him and that we get to spend time reading the Bible and ya, to spend time thinking about these things. We read John 2 and did a lesson on growth and the essentialness of prayer and reading the Bible and obedience in growth. So, this week we are going to read the Bible daily before bed and hold each other accountable. He had to go to work, but it was another great meeting. I can't wait until our lesson on prayer. xP. I really want to see him praying passionately.

Umm. Organic chem lab. We watched clear liquid go from one point to another really slowly by evaporating and condensing like a million times. >.> Kinda boring, but we know what our liquids were! =D (which is the point of the experiment. Separating two liquids and determining which they were by testing them.)

Then me and NF went to Story of the Soul (after a brief chat with MC who played on worship team with NF at Getaway two years ago!). SotS was good. We watched a couple movie clips, looked at a painting and heard CW's testimony of hope in a difficult time. and JXW came! =D (even though the O-train broke down... >.>) Ya. There were a bunch of people there (I haven't heard an official count yet though. I counted 45 at the end, but people may have already left at that point).

Ya. Then 11 of us went to bubbletea in China town and played Apples to Apples in My Sweet Tea. lol. So fun. AG is hilarious and I think a lot of us hadn't actually had dinner, just sugary baked goods at SotS and bubbletea. lol.

Ya. I need to change. I don't want to be the one that makes you cry, but rather the one you can cry on.

I talked with CW for like half an hour before going to sleep. xP. I really wanted to do that like everyday the way me and DP did in EA. It's one thing I think good roommates should do. xP

Ya.

Ttyl. I've got to do my Phys chem lab now since I have work at 2... >.>

=D.Fa

PS. DS's baptism tomorrow!!!!!!! So exciting!

A late lunch

Hey guys!

Yesterday was pretty jam-packed with stuff. Phys Chem lecture, Discipleship meeting with LT, Discipleing with KC, organic chem lab, weekly meeting, and 'You had me at Bacon 2'. That is what was planned for yesterday and it mostly played out as expected, well I don't know. I didn't really expect some things either. lol

Phys chem. whatever. (lol... it's almost done. =P)

Now for Discipleship with LT I was supposed to have arranged something, sharing with a club leader or one of my friends or something. I was also supposed to have finished thinking about my goals for growing spiritually this year and starting to plan for how that can be done. I kinda lost the sheets and I didn't have time to work on it... So instead we just had a time of quiet reflection on a passage in the Bible. I read some of what I was reading earlier and it was so cool. I will post it in a separate post because it's pretty long. lol. [Click here! lol.] After that we talked about how we can reach out to clubs on campus and meet them where they are at. LT had talked to a leader of a humans rights club and he was really interested. Anyways, I sent facebook messages to the 'leaders' of M22 to see if we could meet up next week and discuss a collaborative event in January (the one about human trafficking) and they are all interested in meeting up, they are even going to talk to others and see if they want to meet up too. So, ya. I need to pray for those meetings and God working in their lives and me and LT sharing the gospel with four groups of possible like 1-6 people.

Next was a meeting with KC. I was a bit late, but it was a great meeting. KC seems really happy every time we meet. We read John 1 first (I had intended that we read 1 John 1, but this is cool too. We ended up reading 1 John later anyways. lol.) Then we went through the old-school version of the Spirit-filled life booklet. There is a lot of reading in that booklet, which is awesome. We read like a part of like half the books in the new testament. Our meeting was really great, but also a bit long. lol I had to run off to my orgo lab. I really want to see God strongly change KC and see him praying aloud with a passion.

The lab was really boring. lol. we dissolved cholesterone in ethanol then cooled it and filtered it.... lol.

I finally had my lunch at like 4:30 and watched Naruto and Shakugan no Shana 3 (which I am not telling NC about. lol.)

Then it was weekly meeting and we went through how to share again, but with more depth. Like, the Knowing God Personally booklets are cool, but they also leave a lot of room for elaboration and interactivity, so that was cool.

Then we went to RM's house for the C4C guys' night 'You had me at Bacon 2'. There was a lot of meat. lol. The chilli was awesome and the nachos were the best. lol. LT shared with us about what it means to be a man and how Jesus was not a feminine man. Authenticity, Servanthood and Initiative.

Then I got a drive home to go to sleep for 6 hours. xP

Organic, Physical and Bio-

So, it's nearly Wednesday... I guess the week disappeared. lol

Monday was all about my Phys chem lab. All morning working so hard to finish that on time. Then I had a lab, prayer meeting, a break and then we got ready to go to Dundas for a pizza outreach.

There were six of us going, so we met in Oasis and prayed. You see, as part of my DG we take turns organizing and implementing an outreach. This week MW planned to go onto DB's floor in res and have pizza, have open conversation, a game or two and build friendships from there. I personally had thought that MW is kinda, like, focusing only on DB as our main first year guy. Whenever he does this I think that he's like ignoring the other guys, SM, JS, MC, etc. I think I'm not fully loving of MW. It's really cool that he's taking the initiative and building into DB so much though.

Anyways, there were a lot of people. We knocked (politely) on people's doors and when told there was free pizza they positively and in an interested tone asked 'seriously?' There were a lot of girls. We only realized that we hadn't asked any C4C girls to come with us as of, like, 30 minutes before the outreach. xP...

It was cool. We had 5 pizzas. We played mafia and some people told some stories. LT basically told the prodigal son story, but it was actually the true story of this girl he knew, what was her name again..? Burnadette? Nope. Anne. Sure, that's easier to say! lol (He didn't know. Those were the names suggested). Yup.

I'm looking forward to 'Story of the Soul: Hope' next Friday night.

Anyways, I got home from the party and had to study for my midterm in organic chemistry this morning. TJN and I studied late into the night. It was actually the first time I had seen some of the material... I missed one lecture and it was a pretty important one. >.>

This morning CW's alarm went off at 7:16. It's just the radio, but he listens to the radio really loudly, so either I wake up or lie in bed with my hands full pressure over my ears to block the noise, which is no way to sleep.

Oh! I had a dream. NM was in my dream. I was at some Banjo and Kazooie convention of some sort (mainly playing levels that don't actually exist, but that I've played in dreams before) and NM and his girlfriend show up and of course we have a giant hug and he's smiling that ridiculous smile as always. That's as much as I remember, well there was also this part about a music note I couldn't find in one level, but that's unimportant. I miss NM... He was like the first guy I met in Vancouver before going to East Asia. He has this crazy haircut that's like really long on one side of his head and short on the other. He also has rainbow shorts that are shorter than his boxers. lol..... We ran together once during Orientation.

Anyways, ya. I went to school early. TJN had invited me to audit his stats class and study for orgo. Yep. I learned a lot in that hour and a half. I'm pretty sure I aced the test.

Then I managed to get a good deal of my Biochem lab done. Then I had a bio lab and got a plant! lol. We were cutting them up last week, but now we aren't so our lab coordinator was giving them away. I have this deep set idea that my lab coordinator was the teacher for my plant bio mini program in grade 8... I don't know. maybe. I really like plants. xP.

Then I got some work done on my discussion for the Biochem lab, prayer meeting, stats class, train and bus home, massive amount of rice and one piece, Fun with Dick and Jane (which brought back good memories with my brother), and now I continue to procrastinate instead of studying for my physical chemistry midterm tomorrow. >.<

Since last time

I have had a pretty awesome time since I last told you guys anything. xP.

So, last night was the STAT Midterm. It went really well. I went in and had this peace. Like I helped a few other people with their questions and was talking to this random guy about minecraft instead of cramming. lol. Cramming sucks. But really, I was not prepared. Luckily we had an extensive formula sheet and the prof had gone over the sample midterm the day before. If it wasn't for that I may have done really really really badly. I don't know. xP.

Anyways, before that was my Organic Chemistry lab which was good. The experiment is basically non-stop for three hours, so much to do and you just have to do it. It took my mind off everything that was happening around me and ya. I really like chem labs. xP We finished at 5:45, 20 minutes late, but we weren't last. xP The smell of ether and acetic acid. xP

Also, this morning I had a real driving experience, no longer confined to parking lots or centerpointe. Not much faster though, but whatever, change of scenery, which was all very colourful. hehe. Umm, ya. !My highschool fantasy has been fulfilled! I got to drive my dad home from MHS! =D I got some food from my parent's after cleaning out their fridge and organizing it a bit. Then I got a drive home then a drive to church. At church I built a Christmas tree out of shoe boxes which required a few Jengas to make it look better.

Then we had a great worship practice (me, AL, SM and NC) and ya, we bussed home.

Now I'm heating up leftovers from my parents. I'm gonna watch some anime, do some phys chem work then go to school where I will meet some Japanese students or students interested in learning Japanese or any language exchange program students interested in watching a Japanese movie then we will bus to the NAC(..? or somewhere anyways) and watch the film 'It's Always Sunny on Third Street 2'..? I think that's what it's called. xP

Looks good.

Ttyl.

=D.Fa

PS. On a scale of one to ten, I'm somewhere between one and ten. =P

Halloween and today

So, Monday was Halloween. Whatever. I'm too old to trick-or-treat, I'm too poor to buy and give out candy, I don't care for drinking, so wild parties are out, I didn't have time to create a humorous costume like RM did, so, normal day I guess. It's not even a good holiday. I mean, what is the moral behind it? Gluttony, partying, we could add demon worshipping to the list..? I don't mean to say it's all bad. But it can be very bad.

Point: Monday was Halloween. I had a lot of school on Monday I think. We finally got to do something in our phys chem lab. My other lab partners (because there's so much to do that the task is divided among three groups) wanted to just gossip during the time, like usual. >.>

Oh, in Biology we learned about dermal tissue. Whatever. It was just me and JXW that day because KL and KC weren't there. I hadn't really realized that we were such good friends. I really want to share the gospel with her. I asked God 'how?' last week and the answer was 'I haven't asked you yet, have I? What do you believe?' Point blank unless some build-up occurs naturally, but basically the JW approach. What can happen if I ask? I find out where she stands and can pray for her more specifically, we get into a spiritual conversation and God really speaks to her, or she can hear the gospel and receive the gift of eternal life. No down side.

DG was good. I was kinda on the hot seat and was asked what was the most amazing thing that happened on EAP. When I was falling behind, I took the day of rest reluctantly praying that God would be working even though I wouldn't be. And while we were playing with a frisbee, He connected me with Moped, who's English wasn't the best, so we didn't meet with him immediately, but when we did we shared the gospel and saw him come to accept Christ as his personal saviour. It wasn't me, God was working that day.

KD for dinner. xP

Today. So long ago. Umm. I slept in by accident. I also shaved last night. xP Movember has begun. EE was telling me about how much she loves Movember because she likes facial hair. But she urged me to grow out my beard too because she dislikes 'just moustaches'. It is not 'no shave November' it is 'moustache Movember'! I am contemplating dying it a really weird colour.

BIOL lab was good. We finished really early because we started the questions before we got there apparently. So I went to do my Stats assignment. Also really short.

I have to get a lunch together with some first year guys soon though. Partially because NC's mom asked me to go out for lunch with him and maybe bring a friend or two, and also because it is a good idea. I'm getting into a weird train of thought though. Like, I have to organize an event later on, an outreach event. So, I'm kinda in the mindset that everything we do should fit into the category of outreach events where there is someone inspiring others, some people experiencing the Spirit and doing outreach to help others discover Jesus. But then I'm also mainly thinking of inviting first year asian guys... so i don't even know what to do because ya... and to make it outreach you need to invite more people, so limiting the criteria (which God never does) isn't the best plan. Also, sushi doesn't really work too well with giant crowds which is what I'm picturing in my head.

Anyways, I'm super excited for JL who is applying for Short Term INTernational (STINT) missions trip with Power to Change (P2C)!

PS. Why does the devil always strike when you are feeling the best..? He's lame.

大大前天 和 大前天

Ok, I've been pretty buried in light work recently. I've also been not at home during the time I normally blog, so ya. This will be a summary..?

Thursday:
I honestly don't remember much about Thursday. >.> I'm pretty sure it was a jam packed day of classes and labs. I think I wasted a lot of time again on facebook and youtube and was really feeling guilty and upset with myself for all of the time I have wasted this week. I still had a lab report due on Friday and I really hadn't done very much of it. By this point I was hoping to have been done and able to start the next lab report which was due monday. I don't think I stayed up too late..?

Friday:
I walked to school because I had planned on not biking home. My first discipling with LT. He had bought a new camera app for his new phone. Well, he also had this really cool smart alarm clock app that measures how much you roll around while sleeping and from that tells when you are in REM, light or deep sleep and wakes you up when you are almost awake up to half an hour before your actual alarm time. It seems really cool. We started going over my personal development plan. As JW knows, I'm not always the most responsive or thoughtful person, and when it got to the question about which verse or promise you'd like to claim for the year, or which command or exhortation to keep in mind, I had nothing. I prayed about it. I had two phrases come to mind: 'feed my sheep' and 'keep in step with the Spirit'. >.< Hmmm... LT thought that the first one might have something to do about loving God more, which is definitely something I need to grow in. I really don't know why these came to mind. I hadn't read those verses in a while. I intend to reread them soon.

I then left to go to my meeting with KC. Today's lesson was about our relationship and fellowship with God. Our relationship as children of God, offered to all who believe, is not broken ever. However, unconfessed sin can break our fellowship with God. When it came to 'repentance' and the definition given being 'a change in attitude which will result in a change of action', I asked if he could give an example. He, ya, didn't think the same way I was asking the question, I meant, like based on this definition is there a 'real-life' (meaning not sin-related) example that fits it? So, I gave this example about how I use microwavable plastic containers. My housemates keep telling me how it's not healthy. My change in attitude towards the plastic containers would lead to me not using them anymore. (Fyi, my attitude to microwaveable plastic containers has not changed, so kinda a bad example, but anyways...) I'm excited to continue meeting with him and I really hope God changes him and does great things through him.

Chem lab- shorter than usual.

Then I got to help LT carry pumpkins into the C4C weekly meeting room. Then I was official greeter. !!! Two of the guys I followed up with back in the beginning of September finally came to Weekly Meeting!!! Not that this is the only way to get involved, but it's the fastest way of integrating, making new friends, seeing what C4C is about and feeling the full experience. BS and MdS! Anyways, during Weekly meeting JB gave her first talk. Later we carved pumpkins! They were really cool and it was a lot of fun. Then we smashed two of the four pumpkins because no one wanted them. We went to Loeb and stood on the roof and dropped them like two floors. XP (We cleaned it up.)

Then me and AL bussed to EE's house. She was having a movie marathon. One reason we went was actually just so that we had somewhere we could be during another video chat with our EA family. This was done mainly for MC who wasn't able to join us last time, however, she couldn't join us again. lol. I got to see PW finally!!!!!!!!!!!!! T.T Typing this right now is making me tear too... I swear, that was like the saddest moment ever (recently), leaving her alone at the hotel and bussing to the airport without really having a good goodbye... and she was crying... T.T But she was her happy, crazy, super asian self again. T.T (tears of joy) We'll need to do it again for MC and because not everyone was on at once. xP

So, in the end, at EE's I ate a pile of candy (my main meal of the day), watched part of 'Psycho' and the start of 'the Shining', video chatted in EE's room, and slept through the rest of 'The Shining'... lol... We got a drive home from AL's nocturnal (I'm exagerating) dad at like 4am.

(more summary to come later)

17.10.11

Function and Form

So, whenever I don't blog regularly either I'm pretty busy or I'm turtling and hiding from sin issues in my life. This time it was business. Or rather, just not being at home this weekend and then being busy.

Friday. lol. Umm. Ya. Then I got to school and had things booked until Saturday at 3pm. What? Ya, Raven's Log meeting, A scheduled discipleship meeting with KC (he had errands), a lab with associated report I had to hand in and wasn't done because I slept in, Campus for Christ Weekly Meeting and then off to church. The RL meeting was short so me and TJN went to SC/RP's dorm and worked on our labs. lol. Good times. I managed to get the lab report done and get to it on time. The lab was pretty interesting. Liquid-Liquid extraction. =P Ended early, a bit. C4C Weekly Meeting was awesome. DP[not the same DP. a similar DP. lol we both went to EA, but this DP was on a different team] was there! and S(?)!?! He was in my Japanese class back in grade 12. I never really knew him very well though, so, I guess I don't actually know him. xP It's still cool.

Then we hung out in Oasis and when they were all going to McD's to get McFlurrys I was going the opposite way off to church. You see, we are still in a temporary location. Actually this March we will most likely be the very latest we can stay here. Although it's huge and has been a real blessing to have, it really is falling apart, so buying it was probably a bad idea anyways, so thanks God for not having that happen. Ya, there are a number of short term possibilities in schools or universities. There are also the two main long term possibilities now on the radar. 1. Buying a piece of land in Centrepoint and building a new church there. (The government is very very slow) 2. Buying a church building from another church who aren't able to stay in their own building at the moment. We want to ask God for his guidance, opening and closing doors and really getting us where he wants us to be, so all month we are having '30 days of prayer' for this and this weekend we were having a '24 hour prayer chain' meaning 24 hours where someone was always in the church praying for the building search. For the middle of the night shifts we just had a youth and young adult sleepover party at the church.

We played games and worshiped and skyped and watched a movie and prayed and worshiped some more and slept a little and ate muffins for breakfast. The movie was 'highschool musical China'. It was really funny. xP I had the 3:30-4am prayer shift, so when the movie finished I just did more 'late night' worship with FL and R(?). The way worship worked was that someone calls out a song and we use Ultimate Guitar to get the chords / lyrics and project it onto a large screen so that everyone could see including whoever was playing. xP So good. I got to sleep a bit. I wasn't really planning on it, but everyone else (except Z(?)) was asleep, and I was pretty tired after only getting 5 hours the night before. I got two hours from 5:15-7:15 on a cold carpeted floor. Z(?) is really nice. He gave me his hoodie and then his sleeping bag when I was super cold in the morning. >.< He's pretty mature too. and responsible.

Worship practice started at 10. I wasn't on team, lol. At 1 our worship leader study continued from where we left off in April (or maybe March..?), except that we will be going at a faster pace since reading one chapter a month would take us nearly three years... >.> Ya, it was good.

Then I bussed to school for a really bad audition. She seemed enthusiastic that I could sing though. >.>

Then I bussed home (so much harder this year and especially on the weekends), had a rather large meal and watched too much anime then apparently I passed out on my bed at 8 instead of doing my Phys Chem prelab and playing guitar as I had planned to do... I awoke at 3am to find that I had done as such. I continued to sleep until 6.

Worked a bit on my prelab then bussed to church. You have to leave an hour before church to get there with the current bus system, which is kinda annoying. But, ya, not that bad. Sunday school was good. Service was good. AL invited JC and she enjoyed it. Although it was a bit awkward sharing my Bible with her... >.<

I got a drive to work since JS and I neeeeeeeeeeeeded rice and DZ lives near there. I checked my schedule (no work this week! w00t!) and my coworker tried to pursuade me to work more since my 'replacement' isn't the best at working hard and getting things done. I did a bit of grocery shopping and in the end bought the last remaining Rooster brand bag of rice (40lbs) and bussed home with it.

I can't wait to stirfry. Hehe =P

Umm. Lunch. Prelab. One Piece. Bus to church again. Leader Study on the book of Acts. Pretty interesting. When I finally got home we had a house meeting. Very funny. lol.

I have a BIOL assignmnet due tomorrow, so Ttyl!

PS. Portugal!!!

More stuff.

Yo, school is crazy. Have I told you that my Chem partner is NF just like last year!?! Pretty crazy. We were gonna do infared spectroscopy on our salicylic acid crystals, but the lab coordinator is 'an early bird' meaning he gets to school at like 7:30 am then leaves by 4pm. We are supposed to do that by our lab on Friday, but our schedules don't mesh well and so the only available time we have is after 4 or before class on Thursday at 8am. >.> Whatever.

Umm. My Tuesdays are basically identical to MJ's so I've been spending a lot of time with her.

Next week me and SC are playing badminton again. He says I need to remind him because he will not remember. Also, I was talking to JC and he asked if I play badminton, so I told him about my playing with SC and so next week he will be coming with us! Yay! I found out recently that he isn't 'a frosh' in the full sense. He is a first year at Carleton, but he's had a year at Brock already and had some credits transfer.

Ya. Summit! But I need to do some of next weeks work in advance...

Ttyl.

D.Fa

PS. A girl who came to C4C the other week who only found out about it through my roommate doing follow-up in a blue C4C shirt is in my Phys chem class. lol.

Stuff.

Hey. Here's some stuff:

-My dad says my brother is better at parallel parking than me... >.>
-I'm eating delicious cookies right now. lol CW's first batch of beer-grain cookies.
-Yesterday I made my first real meal in this house and it was delicious.
-Phys Chem labs are boring. So boring.
-Summit is this weekend!!!
-I feel that I should disciple KC. Hmmm...
-I feel it's time for the talk with SC.
-Tennis is fun. Especially with a new racket!
-My shorts ripped on my bike... T.T
-I'm wearing this shirt for the first time ever.
-Temptation happens so much more when the distance between me and God increases.
-Gotta do more school work.

Oatmeal and Sodium Napthalate

So. CW is describing the way I listen to one song until I'm sick of it then going to the next one in an analogy. I'm like an alcoholic who goes from one drink to another. He is also analyzing the lyrics and assuming I 100% relate to them. In David Choi's Uneasy he says 'he drives a better car, he's better looking than me' the song is basically about him being jealous of his girlfriend's friends who are male and CW thought that I was threatened by DZ and his BMW stealing 'my love interest'. All hypothetical though. CW keeps dissing all of David Choi's songs saying they are all cheesy love songs and that David Choi has no guts if he's just gonna avoid his ex (Re: Won't Even Start).

Anyways, last night I finally had to go buy groceries since I was all out of food and ya... I got out of my stats class early. So I bussed to work and bought groceries for an hour. lol. Only 50$ though! 5 big bags of food and only one cent of tax (on the bags. >.>) Then I got a drive home and signed up for SUMMIT using CW's credit card. lol I still don't have a credit card. No big deal.

Ya. My prelab was super long. I was up until 2 and woke up at 7 to finish it at like 8:30. Then I finished my Biol prelab and Biol assignment, which although both are way more simple than the Orgo Chem prelab, they were still making me stress a bit.

Everything worked out really well though, so no problem. I'm a bit tired, but it's a new day. lol.

I had oatmeal for breakfast, but I packed a lunch! So, that's good. lol.

Ttyl.

D.Fa

PS. I got a call back..? o.0 I thought they were going to call me on Monday. They called me during phys chem and since I have caller ID now it showed 'Carleton Sexual Assault Services' since I had that number on my phone for frosh week and it's all extensions from one central Carleton number.

Day 5 and Part of 6

Well, yesterday was fun. lol...

It started off with me leaving later than I had originally planned and being held up by my deciding which shoes to wear. lol... Waste of time, not actually important, but really, I feel way cooler when I wear Converses. I like to pretend I am cool. lol. I want to buy more cool clothes. >.> My old clothes are all big and lame and ya......... Not important. The only thing is that I didn't buy anything to wear in winter when I was in EA, so there is nothing new to wear when it gets cold.

That's not important.

I had one class and one lab. I don't understand most of what we are learning in Phys Chem... I do not know how to integrate. >.> My friend KG was just nodding along the whole time during class though. This is making me think he is way smarter than I usually think he is.

My lab was pretty boring. Just the lab manual, normal procedures, a hilarious video on lab safety and we were done two hours early.

Between the class and lab I had two meetings scheduled. They both fell through though and will have to be rescheduled. I was really looking forward to the second of those two meetings. He pretty much filled out everything on the survey, so it would have been a very interesting conversation.

After the lab finished I went home and had a large lunch.

CW had repaired my bike! You see, I was looking forward to riding my bike in the summer, warm weather and the warm breeze, just flying down bike paths. Looking cool, feeling free, having fun. Green grass, white clouds, blue skies, birds tweeting, cicadas humming. Summer in all it's greatness. But I had a popped inner tube and CW was gone until September and I've been busy and he's been busy. Either way, the weather has shifted. It's like summer in Eastmain again... CW says it's like summer in the Yukon. >.> That's not summer.

So, we biked back to campus for 'the event formerly called weekly meeting'. A bunch of people went to ACF this week though. They should really not be on the same night. lol. (ACF = Asian Christian Fellowship) I got to meet another group of excited first years and some second years too. We had a talk about the Spirit filled life. It was good. We were in a funny room though. lol

After we went to Oasis and played some board games. We (JS, MC, DB, AL and I with some other onlookers) played a game called 'Killer Bunnies'. It is pretty hilarious, but a little hard to understand at first. The rule book is pretty funny too. You have to get the magic carrot. There are 12 carrots and you don't know which one is the magic one until the end of the game, so for a long time you are trying to kill the other bunnies, get carrots and keep your bunnies alive until all 12 have been collected. Then you find out who the winner is! I got 5 carrots. I won! Yay! It was a long game though. lol.

Biked home and I think I went to bed. Oh, anime first, then bed. lol. Also dinner.

This morning I had my second driving lesson. It went way better than the first one. No real reason though. xP I haven't really been in a car very much since the first one and that was like 3 weeks ago or something. lol It was good.

Ya, so that's it so far.

Dread and Joy

"I've dread this more than I've dreaded anything else in my entire life."

Well, I haven't dread this that much, but I didn't want it to happen. I'm starting to get behind in my school work... >.> I'm trying to be really keen and get things done, do readings, etc. For two or three days in a row now I have not done any work at home. Actually things I wanted to do and planned for that weren't homework are also being shirked.

I meant to go buy groceries yesterday after getting home from school, but, for the purposes of being home at a reasonable hour so I could call some people, I had to leave to play tennis with my brother before buying groceries. In the end I came home with two big bags of groceries from my parents' house. lol

All my labs this week seem to be introductory labs, not actually doing anything, so I haven't had to really do pre-labs except for my plant biology class and that lab is going to be a piece of cake. The entire semester just cutting up plants, staining them with dyes and then looking at them under the microscope. lol. interesting, easy and awesome. lol

Umm. Ya, last night when I got home around 7:20 I procrastinated until 8, but then I started doing more follow-up calls and getting more meetings set up. I got four more meetings scheduled and I have another guy to call later today that I texted yesterday. So, that is awesome. xP

The meeting I just had an hour ago went really well. MD is really cool. He is originally from India, but grew up in Dubai and now lives with his uncle in Barrhaven. It's a bit of a commute to Carleton from there, but that's cool. He doesn't have a cell phone yet though. xP He was really interested in getting involved. He even asked for another magazine so that he could share it with one of his friends!

So far so good. Got a lab to go to.

Guitars and Classes and Meetings

So, today was really busy.

First was a prayer meeting outside in the quad and I was in charge of worship songs. MM's guitar is kinda difficult to play in tune. you put a bit of pressure on the strings and they slide sharp... Chords are bad. lol. In any case we prayed for the frosh and for revival on the campus and all those other good things.

I handed MM's guitar over to AL. I was not going to bring it around to my lectures and my Biol lab.

TL spammed me during orgo chem and it produced some interesting 'poems' for lack of a better word. (Check my tweets) This is because he was sending me twinkle twinkle little star word by word... my phone does not always get messages in order. Also duplicates are just stacked, not repeated. DP was actually texting me the pokemon theme song at the same time. >.>

After that I had a meeting with A(?) who I had called yesterday. He has a Catholic background and firmly believes in works. He said he really likes having conversations with people, so I'm sure he'd enjoy our discussion groups that we will be having this month. It was good talking to him.

Later was my Biol lab I also got to see JS and MC. They are in Engineering and are frosh. lol I want to see them grow in their faith too.

My biology lab was soooooo much fun! lol. We were doing microscopy and sectioning stems. Our lab coordinator said that this is basically all we will be doing this semester, which is awesome! Super easy labs! Also, it was a lot of fun. xP All the people at my lab bench were kinda making fun of me for being so nerdy. I was so excited that they told us how to adjust the microscope so that both eyepieces are focused! So the lab coordinator picked on me and singled me out to repeat myself... lol.

After I had a meeting with another guy, RI. He is from Jordan and has been going to church all his life. He seemed really tired / brain dead when we met though. lol. I emailed him all the information and we'll be in contact. He said he had a bunch of homework to do, so I went through the magazine really quickly. I was pretty sure he had seen all it before too, so I wasn't too apprehensive of doing so. In any case he has the magazine now to read over.

Next I had to find the guitar. lol. AL had given it to J(?) to watch for a little while and he kept it a bit longer then we couldn't find him. Bookstore =/= Library, by the way. Once we found it I was able to safely store it in AM's room. She is one of the friends I made during frosh week.

Ya. Our stats lecture was suuuuuper boring. Stem and Leaf and Histograms for an hour and a half....... Bored to death.

Then I took the bus home. Big mistake. like a 30 minute bus ride instead of just walking like 15-20... >.>

Ya. I'm gonna sleep. I actually don't have any labs to do this week apparently..? But I still have to show up and do check-in or introductions. It's cool though. No prelabs. xP
