A Week Later

So, I guess I survived a week without a laptop of my own and without constant internet access. I suppose this means that I do have my laptop back. That is correct.

Also, it seems that I have made another decision and my housemates have all been making plans around it and it seems settled. In any case I really shouldn't finalize decisions on my blog.

Also, I am in the process of writing my support letter for East Asia Project. I don't really have anyone to send it to though... The only people I've thought of sending it to my neighbours and coworkers.

Ya. So, while I have been unable to or rather just not willing to spend my very few and far between minutes with internet on blogger I have had to take a couple notes for later blogging.

1. Just because there is no 'porn' doesn't mean there is no sin. Especially when you are trying your hardest to do good works for God, the devil will be trying just as hard to stop you and get you down. In our weakness, God's greatness is made perfect. I mean we try so hard to be better than we are, but we fall flat on our faces over and over again, but God, Jesus, even though He was in our place, He never fell to temptation.

2. I really like it when I'm reading the Old Testament and I read a passage that has been turned into a song I know. xP
Isaiah 35:3-4 Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong do not fear; your God will come, He will come with vengeance; with divine retribution He will come to save you."
Psalm 27:4 One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I m ay dwell in the house of the Lord all of the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple.

I mean often when reading the OT I just don't relate very well with it. The last like 10 chapters of Exodus were all the exact measurements for how to build the tabernacle and that clothes Aaron would wear.

Anyways, I'm back I guess. Oh. lol. I will post about my reading week tommorow or something.

PS. What Can I Do by Suengri of Big Bang is just stuck in my head nonstop. So good. lol.

明けましておめでとう

Today was pretty sweet.

I mean after the morning anyways. Sin is still in my life and I'm still not relying enough on the power of the Holy Spirit.

Aside from that I got to church a bit early for the practice and read and talked with CW for a while. Then when we were waiting for the door to magically unlock we tried to hit icicles off the roof using the ice from where the icicles were dripping and other icicles once some had fallen.

We started quite a bit later than expected, but we got to play a bunch of happy, fun and over the top songs and by that I mean hymns..? lol.

After that was the new years potluck. 明けましておめでとう! SC is a very interesting person and AL is more asian than I thought she was.

On that note, I like the songs that AL writes (by AL I mean AL's older brother, AL.) but the funny thing is that whenever I hear them I can only imagine AL singing them. xP And so I try to immitate the way he sings and then I laugh. xP The Righteousness of Christ is a pretty good song. I'm thinking of recording it. xP

On the topic of funny things: petting cymbals with purcussion brushes. lol.

Ya. Lunar New Year is a great time of year. xP.... Chinese potlucks are so good. Also, the way the snow was falling afterwards was the best. Big fluffy white snow flakes adn it wasn't all that cold either.

Even though we think fall is the best season to have permanently, I do enjoy large chunks of the other seasons. When snow is falling at night and it is warm that is cool. It is also amazing when right after a snowfall it is night and there is a full moon and no clouds and all the stars. The reflected moonlight off of all the snow is amazing. Winter is bad when the snow gets plowed into giant piles of brown grossness, the roads get salted and brown gross slush gets splased everywhere and when its like -30 or less and so cold.

But ya. YA is at my house this week. I also have a lot due this week. xP

PS. Also, for some bizarre reason my computer finally decided to connect to the internet and as such I have just blogged.

What Will Your Story Be?

Hey, whatsup..?

I am currently in SP 100. It is 6:52. It is 'Weekly Meeting' time for Campus for Christ and we are currently all on our laptops. xP My friend HK just messaged JC "hey. aren't you supposed to be at WM?" lol... It's like, why are you on your laptop..? Well, you see, we are all brainstorming different ways that we can bring the gospel to our friends and just tell them about how great God is. The main focus this month is on writing our own personal testimonies about how God has impacted our lives and just about where we are coming from and just how we came to know God personally. I missed the weekly meeting last week where we started writing our testimonies and everything, and in Discipleship group this week we 'continued' working on them. I still don't really know what to say in it. The main thing about the testimony is that it has to have minimal 'Christian-ese' in it and has to just be easy to understand for people who don't know all these Christian terms that we just put in our sentences while we speak. xP

The other day I was texting VW again and she asked if she had ever shared her testimony with me. She summarized it into 'pastor's daughter. baby. but blessing.' When we finally meet in person it's gonna be interesting. We kinda facebook stalked each other slightly and have had a couple text conversations. The thing I got out of that conversation is that when we finally do meet I should have my testimony ready...

Well, today I went sharing with RM and MW. First we were in the food court and we approached a couple groups of people. The first group was a band and they were about to play somewhere and were just grabbing a quick bite, so they didn't have time to speak with us. After that we approached another group and they were all in a 'secular group' or at least I think that's what she said, so basically they said they didn't want to talk with us. RM had to leave and so it was just me and MW and the Holy Spirit.

We talked to two different guys. One in Loeb Lounge who was a non-practicing Catholic and one in Oasis who is a Methodist pastor's son. We had the most amazing conversation with him. He was originally from Ghana and lives in Toronto. We went through the 'Satisfied' booklet that talks about how to live the Spirit-filled life and just how we are satisfied when we put God in control of our lives and just trust in Him. It was really sweet going through that booklet again. It's always good to be reminded of all that stuff. We talked with him for a long time and we prayed for him. I think he actually encouraged me more than I encouraged him. One thing he was saying is about "Why do pro atheletes practice..? I mean they are so good, why do they need to practice..? The same reason we still need to read our Bibles and pray."

You can never be too good or 'too spiritual'. Christians don't get 'too good' until we get to heaven. We still struggle with sin and temptation and stuff while here on Earth and need to rely on God and the Holy Spirit and Jesus' forgiveness.

Anyways, in both of those conversations they asked about what denomination we were in or just what background we come from. I really need to work on my testimony.

Ya. So, we were brainstorming about how we can use the internet, twitter, facebook, blogs, emails, anything to reach our friends. This blog is my main way of reaching out to people, but clearly I'm mostly reaching people in my church... xP But I don't like the idea of plugging my blog, like "Hey I have this blog!" .... XP So, I was thinking I should blog, and post my testimony to facebook and maybe even upload worship songs to youtube or something.

So, I was just wasting time on hotmail, blogger, etc. and I went to facebook and at the top of the page it said "Introducing Your New Profile: Now with more ways to show and tell your story." Tell Your Story

With these overwhelming hints. I suppose that I should really work on my testimony. Especially because I am supposed to be sharing it in DG on Monday... xP

Ya. I will post my testimony here, don't worry. You are a part of it for sure. xP

Toronto Bound

Hey.

As I usually do on trips I will be updating you regularly via texting. XP

So, I am currently at the Ottawa bus station waiting like an hour to board a bus going to Toronto where Winter Conference is being held. Actually, WC is in Richmond Hill, but that's practically Toronto right..?

I'm gonna end up downtown Toronto and Richmond Hill is quite a bit North of there. I will have to take a subway and the VIVA bus an hour to get there.....

I'm pretty nervous/anxious, but I'll get there somehow if it's God's will that I get there. XP

Ya......... I brought a few books, one DS game, my bag that has my C4C stuff in it, my laptop, my cell phone, a box of granola bars, a suitcase full of clothes, my jacket/gloves/hats/scarf, my wallet, money, a pocket full of pens, ummmmmm. Not much else.

I did a bible study on Ecclesiastes yesterday. XP It took a while and I don't think I really absorbed too much of it... Some things in it were a little odd and it was hard to understand sometimes.

I Thought So... / The Singing Bus / Christmas Soundtrack

Hey, I'm tired... xP

But I feel like if I don't tell you now, I probably won't or if I do it won't be the same... xP

So, tommorow morning is my last exam. I am very unprepared, but expect to do satisfactoraly at least. Calculus... It's not that bad, I just havn't fully figured out some of the "you have to do it THIS WAY" integration problems. xP

Earlier today I got to the boss fight (final boss fight) in LoZ Spirit Tracks. I'm like,"Ok, Zelda... get your body, take my bow and shoot some light arrows. Go on. Do it." She does it... xP I was slightly disappointed at the predictable tendency of the final boss fight.

I am also kind of really dissapointed at what I have read of C4C's WC's day of evangelism which will take place mostly online..?!?!?!?!?!!? what?!?!?!? "bring your laptops" What!??!?!??!?!?!??!?!??!?!?!? I am severly disappointed at this. How does talking online help me at overcoming a fear of sharing in person with strangers..? You could share online (poorly) with a script. >.> I hope there is an option for actual in person sharing.

There was also something that has happened a couple times to me now. I have named it "The singing Bus" because that is what it does. It sings, but only a few notes, but really loudly. It sings in my low whistle range and can be heard from beyond tiverton to beyond Merivale from Chesterton (so it can be heard like 10 blocks away or something!) and it's really creepy, but so cool. xP. The other day it was a 156 and today it was a 117.

Nat King Cole's Christmas CD "The Christmas Song" is basically a soundtrack to our Christmases at my house says my brother. And I fully agree with him. We had a good laugh earlier today singing all the little articulations that Nat King Cole does as well as the little instrumental flourishes in The Christmas Song. xP The CD is played at least 10 times each year at my house during the Christmas break and it has been for a number of years.

Also, I'm wondering, has your Christmas tree ever fallen over? The ones in our house have so many times that we have been tieing our trees to the ceiling for a couple years now.......... I really think that it is lame to tie your tree to the ceiling. Our tree this year looked very stable, couldn't possibly fall over. And yet I had to tie it to the ceiling....

Also, how much fake snow goes on your trees..? Do you even know what I'm talking about..?

Are your trees real..?

Why are there trees at Christmas..?

I have to sleep now, but in about 13 hours I will be free from exams (for a few months)!

So, ya.

Produce vs Salad Bar!

So, ya.

Today, I woke up at 8:30, had a shower, ate an omlette, got a drive to church, played bass, got a ride home, ate ice cream for lunch, and went to work.

So, ya.... The store was renovated in the summer. The new Salad Bar has been its own department ever since. When it split off from Produce my boss only gave them a couple of the old Salad Bar employees and the others stayed in produce. He apparently doesn't want to share his employees.

Anyways, recently he took one of the new salad bar employees to work in produce. The new salad bar manager doesn't think this is fair at all. I kind of agree... but I digress. The real reason I am talking about all this is because that one employee that has been split between the two departments has two shifts on Thursday: 7-4 in Salad Bar and 4-11 in Produce. It turns out that I was the only one free to work Thursday night so SL (Salad Bar manager) asked me if I could work then and there was nothing on my calander for Thursday night, so I said I would probably be able to work then. The thing is I thought that I had promised someone that I would do something then..?

I then remembered that YA is Thursday, but this week is no regular YA! It's HK's last YA! It's the last time I'll see him and R(?) for a while... possibly a very long while... So I told SL that I was busy... No one else could take that shift though, unless I switch to someone else's morning shift... I proposed the idea that I could do the Salad Bar shift. =D

This is when she told me the whole situation. About how my boss wouldn't share me, or AS, or MR. xP But I want to work in Salad Bar..... T.T I was kinda begging her, but not quite and she kept telling me that if she asked my boss, he wouldn't allow it.

Soooooo, tommorow I am going to ask him. I mean, it's just once (as far as he knows... xP). I really want to...... xP

I'm so done with Produce... Since maybe 5 days after I got hired two and a half years ago, I've wanted to work in Bakery or Salad Bar. I always do my work as fast as possible so that I can go work in either of those departments now.

SL was saying that if I asked to work in Salad Bar my boss might tell me to just leave produce. SL said that if I was allowed to work in Salad Bar she would use me for more than just emergencies. I seem to have a reputation of doing things really quickly. She said that in January the Salad Bar hours would be reduced and that I wouldn't be able to get too many hours.

In January, I'll have to find a new job OR I will have to work every Sunday and one other day of the week instead of DG or YA or something else......

I just want to do something different already.... xP

I have been threatening to leave produce since the beggining of Summer, but never got around to writing a resume... Then I said I would be looking for a new job, but when I was writing a resume my computer turned off and so I had to start over... XP.... So, I don't have a resume..... and its exam time.....

My Bio exam wasn't that bad... It was a lot more wordy then I expected. It didn't want as many obscure terms as I thought it would. Short answer questions are lame. I can never explain things the way I want to...

I don't know why exactly, but I told BJ about my blog and she told JR.

I'm so tired... xP.

Night.

Packing Tape

Hey, so.

There is a reason that I did not blog yesterday. Yesterday was one of those days, you know, the ones where I do a LOT of homework because I'm just so great at procrastinating..? xP... Ya. Monday usually ends up being one of those days...

So, ya. Yesterday I had a CHEM lecture, a PHYS lecture and a BIOL lecture. Boring stuff. xP.... Then a long while later I had DG with RM. What did I do in that time..? Um... I was working frantically on my CHEM lab, and I had lunch with CW, and I found out some information about the Quidditch team practices, aaaannndddd, ummmm... I wasted a lot of time... xP

So, ya.... When I got home I really had to finish my CHEM lab that was due today. Then I realized that for our BIOL tutorial we had to do some things before we got there... THen I realized that I still had to do my PHYS assignment and preclass quiz... THEn I realized that I wouldn't have time to eat a dinner that I would make because of all this work I had to do, so I would have to eat the spaghetti that my dad gave me on the weekend which I planned to eat for lunches all week. THEN I ate all of the spaghetti and drank over a litre of milk and watched anime. I got to bed at midnight and woke up at 6.

I rushed so that I could get to school and print the stuff off in the Steacie building. My laptop was not cooperating and it took far longer than it should have. The tutorial was on information transfer, in other words transcription / translation, so it wasn't that bad. But then I got my lab back. I had 5 marks taken off for font / spacing issues. You see, there was a maximum of 1 page for the introduction and I was like half a line over. So, I played with spacing / margins / font size, like 1.8 spacing, 11.75 font and like a cm off each margin. He took off 5 marks. It was only that one page that I had played with and I'm pretty sure the other TA said it was okay because there really was a lot of stuff to put into the introduction. So I am going to fight for at least 3 of those marks! At least! Hopefully all of them. >.>

So, ya. Today my lab was due. The super scary formal lab. Typed and in a duotang and everything. So, yesterday when I got to Staples it had just closed. They actually closed slightly early... xP It was like 8:58 when I got there... So I had to buy a duotang at school from the bookstore.

I went to the check out and the cashier says "Chemistry..?" and explained that about half of her sales for the day came from duotangs. xP... It seems like everyone procrastinated.

So, I just handed in my lab. The process was so legit yo. I mean, like totally legit. There are 5 lab sections and everyone has to hand it in today, so outside the lab there were 5 boxes. Big boxes. On tables. But not just on tables, then people might steal the boxes or the labs or something, so they were fully secured and attached to the tables. By packing tape. Legit yo.

Anyways. I am wasting time during my CHEM lab period. I don't have a lunch. My Bio textbook is at home (I have a midterm tommorow that I havn't studied for yet. I actually just walked by K(?) and S(?) who were in my bio class last year and they asked me if I had studied yet. When I said no they were like "ya, but you probably know everything already" xP. I do not.... I really need to study... even though our prof said it would be far easier than the last one (which everyone failed) So, ya...) and I don't really have anything to do..........

We'll see what happens. xP

Of Bikes and Midterms.

So,

These last couple days have been up and down. Up and down mount Tiverton to be exact. It seems that my posting has been procrastinated by a series of more pressing matters / unfourtunate circumstances. I either have tried to start blogging and my laptop kinda restarted or I really had to study for my CHEM midterm... but in my free time while I should be studying Friday I biked to school after bussing home for lunch.

So, ya.

Yesterday was the first time I'd biked anywhere in like 7 years or something.

1. It is true, you never forget how to ride a bike.
2. You don't get any better at riding a bike by not riding one for 7 years.
3. Your legs really hurt after riding a bike to school after not biking for 7 years.
4. I'm still not good at going up hills on a bike.
5. Riding a bike on the roads is soooo scary.
6. It's kinda cold. My head and hands were kinda cold after biking.
7. I still am really scared of taking my hands off the handles.
8. My parents didn't like the fact that I had biked without a helmet.
9. My mom bought me a helmet.
10. I have a bike lock so that I don't have my bike stolen again.
11. It's like being able to 'drive' a two-wheeled car without a license.

I actually just went to buy milk. With my bike it takes like a couple minutes. xP

So, ya. Friday I had CHEM at 8:30-9:30, PHYS 10:30-11:30, a CHEM tutorial 11:30-12:30 and a CHEM midterm 6:30-8:00. Some people studied in every spare moment they had. I just cannot study on the day of tests/exams. I just can't. So, I went home at like 2 so I could eat something before the midterm. I decided to bike back. I actually had the chain get off the gears like a block from my house... xP After that everything was cool... except the hill and the fast cars flying by me.... xP

Anyways, the midterm was okay. Short answers had a lot of random stuff because our prof is really into atmospheric chemistry, but other than that everything was okay. Just before we started the proctor was like "If any of you has a cell phone on your person, you are currently in violation of the standards for exam writing. If this is the case, please stand up, walk to the back of the room and put them in your bags quietly." Half the room stood up.

After the midterm I went to CW's and we hung out. We had pasta, played Forza (I completely failed at it...... I could not go like 20 seconds without crashing and I was always spinning..... xP...) and just talked with JS and DK. They talk about really weird things.... xP

I biked home and got home at like 12. I did not go home the same way I went to school though. I went around by Viewmount on the way back. xP Much flatter.

This morning I woke up at like 11, read a book for a bit, finished rewatching 'Amelie' and then I went to my parents' for lunch (and other reasons like getting the rake for tommorow and getting new glasses, but a large reason was the free food. xP)

I probably have stuff to do, but just chilling once in a while is okay, right?

Did I mention the 'worship potluck' on Thursday for YA..? Again I failed at bringing anything, but some of the other stuff they shared was really cool and I helped sing the songs CW was playing on guitar although everyone was kinda.... >.>

JS was saying how he feels that we are his brothers / sisters. Like really I think of RL as a little brother and CW as a big brother. I havn't really been missing my parents or brother too much... I know that sounds bad, but I guess it might be because a) I do see them every once in a while and b) I have another family, the church. It really should be all one family... >.>

Anyways, this is my new favourite song at the moment. I enjoy whistling to it in a really high pitch. xP

Thinking To Tommorow

Sometimes as things happen during the day I think "wow, I should blog about this" and then I will think about how I would phrase the blog. I often forget those things by the time I get to my laptop though...

Today there were many such events.

I read 2 Thessolonians on the bus today and before Chemistry I did my Sunday school homework for last week.

I spent some time with JC and YA between Chem and Physics.

I played a couple games on my laptop in Physics. There is this game "Airfield Mayhem". JC's brother has a high score of 68 and JC has a high score of 39. I got to 44 after like 10 tries. I also played a couple levels of Gem Craft.

In bio I sat with AA and saved a seat for DK who was late. We learned about Photosynthesis. In photosynthesis photosystem II comes before photosystem I, which is actually annoying to remember, so our prof joked "They intentionally did that to confuse students. Something about the first shall come last and the last shall be first." Me and DK laughed. xP...

After bio I followed AA and saw AG, DF, BC, KV, JT and MD. I went to Leo's lounge. I agree with you AL. I mean I saw DF and there were like 2 tables of people playing cards.

After that I went sharing with SS. We talked for a while about how he normally shares, we prayed about sharing today and then we turned to the guy sitting next to us. This was my first time. I didn't say much, but I did get to see first hand how it would actually work. The guy was willing to speak about it. He was an international student and he was a philosophy student who had just had a lecture about 'what is the meaning of life?' so he was very open to talking about spiritual things.

As we were going through the track he rememberered having seen this movie about Jesus. When missionaries go to different countries they can easily share the gospel by playing "The Jesus Movie" or something which has apparently been translated into 900+ languages, so even though the missionaries can't speak the language they can share the gospel.

SS said he was very interested in finding out where he had come from because in China you have to have private screenings of it and everyone has to wear headphones so that they don't get discovered. So the fact that he had seen it is astounding.

After we had talked to him, he seemed interested, yet he said he had to think about it some more. Overall, it was a very good experience. It shows how willing the students are to talk about these things. It shows how far God's word has reached already. I just thought of a verse I've heard. Something like He who sows is not the one who harvests and God is the one who makes the seed grow or something.

Afterwards SS had to leave so we talked for a bit. "3 out of every 4 people I meet from OCBC are white". lol....... He was laughing out loud. Also at our pastor who is 'the white pastor' by name.

Anyways... After that I studied with DK a bit and went to FILM.

So, the main point of the day is that I got some experience with a real life sharing of the gospel with someone. Tommorow I plan to share with KC. We have arrangments to meet in the Attrium around 10 to study.

Btw, I have made 3 meeting arrangements and they have all met in the attrium... I dislike this because it furthers the idea that the unicentre is the best place in the world, which I do not believe. I usually avoid it actually.

Anyways, you could pray for me I guess... xP

My Brother Was Asleep... >.>

Ossu. (if you don't know by now, 'ossu' is a very informal way of saying 'hey' [in japanese].)

Oh... XP. I already blogged today. XP... In class. =D

Not much happened after class. I still hadn't eaten anything. I went to my chem tutorial. Basically its our prof doing some questions from the book in great detail so that we understand them. It was mostly just converting units of pressure and using the ideal gas law.

After that I went to the quad and wasted more time on fb and youtube until my battery started complaining.

Then I went to a computer lab in the Steacie building and did the same, but also some chem work.

I discovered a song by G-Dragon that is pretty cool.

[Insert 'shonen yo' by G-Dragon here.]

The reason I didn't go home immediately is that I had signed up for a workshop about writing lab reports.

The workshop was pretty boring and the speaker went too far in explaining things, but I suppose that I learned a couple things and it was all reinforced.

So, ya. Work is boring.

CU-Wireless

Ossu.

Nani o shite imasu ka.

Watashi wa hima desu. FIJIKKUSU no KURASU wa juuji han goro ni hajimasu.

xP I'm bored and ya....

The reason I was late to class yesterday, aside from the fact I didn't have a watch, is that I was basically procrastinating. xP I was listening to Big Bang and reading AL's blog. I had done some work, but mainly not much. xP

I have managed to connect, on and off anyways, to the Carleton wireless internet with my laptop. It's semi-sketchy.... actually, pretty sketchy... I can't seem to stay connect for very long... I doubt that I will be using my laptop very much at school...

So, my chem class is like 5-600 people... I wanted to sleep like 10 more minutes this morning, and in a chain reaction, that meant I had to take the last possible bus before class. It was extremely packed on top of which, we were like 10 minutes late and honestly, you have to get to chem class like 15-20 minutes early to get a good seat... and like 10 minutes early to get a seat... so I was in the aisle..... xP

Ya... this internet sucks... xP

I have been attempting some of my goals. Some are easy, some take time, and some I think will be pretty hard... and I've been trying to find loopholes to justify my actions. Like reading 3 chapters before watching anime. Read 3 before each anime..? read 3 chapters, not in succesion, then watch anime..? Can you stockpile chapters then cash them in later..? I suppose I wasn't specific enough. I really want to watch anime though.... xP I only watch One Piece yesterday night! that's like 3 days after I could have potentially watched it! I always watch OP at like 11pm Saturday.

Anyways, this is not really working for me... so I'm gonna stop trying right now............ ya...

New Life

Hey.

I havn't blogged in a couple days. Stuff happens. I had quite a bit of work this week. Also, I had meetings about next weeks VBS in Brooklyn. Wow... less than a week left. And my laptops's internet gets mad at me for no reason sometimes. and my cellphone was in CW's car last night.

So, ya. A brief update:

1. We all sang "As The Deer" in Bakery. It was very unexpected.
2. Bats aren't that scary... It's not an ax murderer or anything.
3. September 12th is one month away.
4. "Are they Po'..?"
...
"What..?"
"Are they Po'?"
...
"What..? Are they Poor..?"
"Ya. Are they Po'?"
5. I very much dislike wearing shorts.
6. Seriuosly my absolute favourite thing that I have ever done and hope to do again often is seriously to sing with a crowd at a worship concert. Especially if the person beside me is good at singing, so we can sing in harmony.
7. Mysterious Mushrooms!
8. Charmander FTW.
9. H-E-R-O, God is my Hero!!!!!
10. zyxwvutsrqponmlkjihgfedcba.

I probably missed a lot, but that is a vague summary of some random events that happened these last couple days.

So, ya. #3. September is the date for our OCBC church picnic. That day there will be a baptism service. Hopefully, I will participate. That is to say. I will be baptised. My first assignment is to write a summary (half page max) of what I understand the gospel to be.

I will be writing it here. =D

In the beggining there was God. He created the world. The universe. Plants, animals and finally He created humans in His pure and holy image so that we may have a relationship with Him and watch over creation. Since then we have all sinned and turned away from God and that sin was passed down from generation to generation. God loved the world, but our sin kept us from having a relationship with Him because he is holy and we were not, so he sent his only begotten son, Jesus. Jesus lived around 33 years and although he was tempted in every way that we have been, he never fell to sin and temptation; he went through everything a human would, but was God. The punishment for sin is death. We deserved death and judgement for our sins. Even though he was sinless, he died on the cross and payed the price for our sins. He removed our sin, past present and future, the sins of the whole world for all time and gave us his righteousness. His blood has washed away our sins and made us perfect in His sight that we may have a relationship with God. Jesus was ressurected on the third day after his crucifiction and showed himself to hundreds of witnesses. Jesus has victory over death and sin and with him we also share in this victory and will share eternal life with him in heaven. Until then God has given us the Holy Spirit within us to help us grow into His likeness. Drawing from the power he has given us, relying on it everyday, turning away from sin and professing Jesus as Lord over our lives we can be born again with new life.

That was probably too much..? Probably adding a bit at the beggining and the end that isn't 'the gospel', but it's all important, right?

So, ya. I've really felt I should tell K(?) that I'm getting baptised.

Anyways.

Ttyl.

These are two songs I've been hearing on the radio.

"Hey AL. It seems that 'daily' is a bit too hard, eh? I mean you only get a somewhat 'monthly' report from RL. >.> xP I don't have a girlfriend."

Awesome Creation

So. Hey.

My cell phone was confiscated Friday night, so I couldn't blog this weekend.

Part of the point of the camping trip is to get away from technology and electronics, but ya. This post is going to be a summary of the trip and I'm gonna start at Friday.

So, I woke up and had to finish choosing songs. Apparently I missed a couple though, but really I had to figure out how to print a document that was on my laptop. I thought emailing it to my computer would ruin the formatting because my laptop was all like older ms word's might not keep the same formatting and the whole point of a large portion of the day Thursday / Friday was formatting the document, so I tried to set up my printer to my laptop... It was taking so long, so while that was happening I also emailed myself and the formatting was fine. This was like 10 minutes after I should have been leaving my house... xP I also hadn't really finished shoving stuff into my bag. I ended up forgetting my towel which is hanging on the back of my door because I never threw it on the pile of stuff I was taking.

So, ya.

We were camping in Gatineau Park by Lac Phillipe. This is the same camping site as two years ago. (This is an annual camping trip for the YF in our church.) So, for the missions trip next week we bought walkie talkies so we were testing them out on the camping trip sometimes. NC is funny.

The first night Pastor DB broke the B string on the guitar... xP It was fine, but there was no B string, so like the chords kinda had a low chord and then a high note. xP

At like 11, we were told to get ready for bed and stuff. The other guys tent was pretty loud... xP There were 5 guys in it and really there wasn't enough room, so JS had to lie on top of them... xP This caused much of the noise. By like 12 almost everyone was making an attempt to go to sleep, except for Pastor DB and TM who were talking quietly at the fire, and the boys tent. They were being quite loud and everyone was telling them to be quiet. Nothing worked until HK, after unzipping her tent, yelled "Boys, if you don't stop talking you're going to be cleaning all the dishes tommorow!" Pastor DB and TM thought she was yelling at them and immediately went to bed. xP It was silent after she yelled. xP

AL gave a cool bible study on Prayer Saturday morning, we went to Mont Cascades (I got burned. xP), there were group activites / competitions which ended in everyone sharing bubbles / smores.

The meals were fine. At sometimes there was a bit too little for everyone, but overall it was fine.

We spent a good portion of our free time playing this game that all the YA have been playing recently. I still have only won once... The game 'Monopoly Deal' is pretty fun, but when you have 7 people playing, the game gets kinda messy. We stayed up until 2 playing yesterday. xP That last game was intense. Here's an online demo if you want to know how to play. http://uk.pogo.com/hotdeploy/uk/promotions/marketing/monopoly-deal/ I bought the game on Tuesday, so I can play it too. xP

Today we (my tent) woke up at 8 and then changed, packed up, ate breakfast, then it was time for church. This year, mostly for the parents who would have to come pick us up and possibly miss church Pastor DB decided to have two services; One in the Park and one back at OCBC. No parents showed up for it though. xP

After we got back to OCBC, I stayed and helped the worship team by doing A/V (all the A/V people were on the camping trip. xP) so I heard the sermon twice. It was about the extraordinary schemes of the devil in our lives. Which is very clear to us because our friend has gone through a lot, but that's all I will say on my blog.

The main reason that having my phone taken away this weekend was troublesome is because I like taking pictures of cool still lifes or landscapes and we were in the Gatineau hills, which are so cool. So, ya... that was annoying, bu t I borrowed SB's camera and CC's camera sometimes.

Aside from all that stuff is only the most amazing point.

I seriously spent at least an hour or so just lying on the ground looking at the stars this weekend. I seriously really like looking at the stars when I am in an area with less light pollution. And there were no clouds. none. It was sooo awesome. Like yesterday I spent at least 20 minutes lying on the ground, at about 1 am (it wasn't that cold last night.), staring at God's amazing creation praying. Like, your creation is so amazing and I can't even take a picture of it or express it in words. I deffinately saw like 5 shooting stars last night.

I'm just really glad that I got to spend this weekend in fellowship with all those guys and soon I'll get to spend a week in New York with some of them.

I'll talk to you later.

"Hey AL. I don't feel I talked to you very much this weekend, but sometimes it takes more then words. Just being together under that sky was fun. ROFL. lol... I don't have a girlfriend."

Summer Summary

So, I have this friend who went to Japan and then China.

She wanted a full update off what I've done this summer, but apparently my blog is blocked in china..? so I had to email her a summary. It was also a response to her email so theres a couple other things too. xP

"blocked from china..?!? That's random.....

So, this summer, starting from the last week of June. So, I go to church and everything, so like I go to the Youth group and stuff, but now that I've graduated I get to go to the Young Adults (University Students) group. And during the summer I get to go to both. Also during the summer there are prayer meetings every week instead of only at the end of every month. Also in August I'm going on a missions trip to Brooklyn to help at a Vacation Bible School, so I've been reading more and doing more studies and memorizing more and praying more and stuff, so ya. That's been cool.

So, ya. Now that I've graduated and I havn't really seen anyone, I've been hanging out with the University guys. The last week of June he had something planned like every night, but I had work and softball and stuff, so I couldn't go, so I was going to tell my boss I didn't want to work night shifts anymore.

When I went to work to tell him, I found he was on vacation and the next two week's schedule was up. I had like 10/14 nights working... >.> I was kinda more upset then I should have been about that...

So I worked. A Lot. I even switched some shifts so that I could go to YA and YF, so I was working like 4-11 Fridays and 7-3 mornings on Saturday for two weeks.... xP

I told my boss I wanted to work a bit less. I was actually just working a lot because a guy quit, a guy was on vacations and we actually did need another guy to begin with...

During those two weeks, my friend decided he was moving out next year and I kinda wanted to too, so we began looking for a place.

I then realized how much it would cost and how I'd have to work and study and stuff. I should work as much as I can during the summer! Oops... I told my boss I wanted to work less... xP

I already have 2 months rent saved. and if I keep my scholarship I have enough saved for tuition already. I think its gonna be fun to live on my own (well, with 4 other guys, but still, not with my parents / brother) I'll get to shop for my own food, cook my own food, actually do my own chores and stuff.

So, ya we found this place on Woodroofe. It was cool, the other 3 guys were cool, but like, it's twice as far from Carleton as my house already is, and we'd have to take 2 buses to get to carleton...

The other place was this guy from church's house. It's behind the Farmboy on Merivale, so it's not that far and I can keep my jobs, if I want to. I kinda want a new job though... I've been there 2 years and I only make 15 cents more then minimum... And my other job is barely a job... While I'm at the courts I've just been reading. It's like 3 hours each week and there's almost nothing to do.

Ya. Today, just because I was thinking about them, I spent most of my day making cabbage rolls. lol... I had to go buy stuff, I had to cook it. In fact, it's still cooking. xP Half an hour left... I got the recipe from here: http://www.soscuisine.com/en/recipes/view/cabbage-rolls?sos_l=en&gpr_id=9432 and only changed it minimally because I had extra beef. I got like 784 grams or something. When I put it in to bake it looked tasty. Hehe. I burned some of it... I think the garlic got a little burned, and some of the beef got burned to the bottom of the pot, but I just didn't use the burned bit.

Ya... I don't really know how to cook, but I want to, so this was fun. xP It smells good. I'm actually in the kitchen as I'm typing this. I brought my laptop with the website up into the kitchen... xP Tomato juice is dripping out of the baking pan though, so that its going to burn in the oven... >.> I put too much in I guess.....

So, ya... I think I might get my G1 soon. xP maybe... I'm trying to make my friend get his at the same time, but he keeps procrastinating and stuff... His older sister (20*) doesn't have her G1 either and neither does my brother (16) so we kinda want to get them before our siblings do.

You should watch Pale Cocoon, Shinigami no Ballad, Howl's Moving Castle and Eve no Jikan. xP (OVA, 6 episodes, movie and 6 half-length episodes respectively)

D.Fa"

Ya. Now... the cabbage rolls were good and I'll upload photos... Hehe. But I kinda sprained my ankle playing tennis, I think, and so I'm going to sleep now....

Today's bible study was cool.

"Hey AL. I don't like spraining ankles / wrists... It happens far too often. I don't have a girlfriend, but RL says Eclipse was a baaaad movie. xP"
