Halloween and today

So, Monday was Halloween. Whatever. I'm too old to trick-or-treat, I'm too poor to buy and give out candy, I don't care for drinking, so wild parties are out, I didn't have time to create a humorous costume like RM did, so, normal day I guess. It's not even a good holiday. I mean, what is the moral behind it? Gluttony, partying, we could add demon worshipping to the list..? I don't mean to say it's all bad. But it can be very bad.

Point: Monday was Halloween. I had a lot of school on Monday I think. We finally got to do something in our phys chem lab. My other lab partners (because there's so much to do that the task is divided among three groups) wanted to just gossip during the time, like usual. >.>

Oh, in Biology we learned about dermal tissue. Whatever. It was just me and JXW that day because KL and KC weren't there. I hadn't really realized that we were such good friends. I really want to share the gospel with her. I asked God 'how?' last week and the answer was 'I haven't asked you yet, have I? What do you believe?' Point blank unless some build-up occurs naturally, but basically the JW approach. What can happen if I ask? I find out where she stands and can pray for her more specifically, we get into a spiritual conversation and God really speaks to her, or she can hear the gospel and receive the gift of eternal life. No down side.

DG was good. I was kinda on the hot seat and was asked what was the most amazing thing that happened on EAP. When I was falling behind, I took the day of rest reluctantly praying that God would be working even though I wouldn't be. And while we were playing with a frisbee, He connected me with Moped, who's English wasn't the best, so we didn't meet with him immediately, but when we did we shared the gospel and saw him come to accept Christ as his personal saviour. It wasn't me, God was working that day.

Today. So long ago. Umm. I slept in by accident. I also shaved last night. xP Movember has begun. EE was telling me about how much she loves Movember because she likes facial hair. But she urged me to grow out my beard too because she dislikes 'just moustaches'. It is not 'no shave November' it is 'moustache Movember'! I am contemplating dying it a really weird colour.

BIOL lab was good. We finished really early because we started the questions before we got there apparently. So I went to do my Stats assignment. Also really short.

I have to get a lunch together with some first year guys soon though. Partially because NC's mom asked me to go out for lunch with him and maybe bring a friend or two, and also because it is a good idea. I'm getting into a weird train of thought though. Like, I have to organize an event later on, an outreach event. So, I'm kinda in the mindset that everything we do should fit into the category of outreach events where there is someone inspiring others, some people experiencing the Spirit and doing outreach to help others discover Jesus. But then I'm also mainly thinking of inviting first year asian guys... so i don't even know what to do because ya... and to make it outreach you need to invite more people, so limiting the criteria (which God never does) isn't the best plan. Also, sushi doesn't really work too well with giant crowds which is what I'm picturing in my head.

Anyways, I'm super excited for JL who is applying for Short Term INTernational (STINT) missions trip with Power to Change (P2C)!

Projectile Objects

I do not understand grade 9 boys. They speak a different language, are attached to their phones/iPods which may be the same thing, enjoy making fun of other people and have recently doubled in height. >.>

Last night was the YF boys' sleepover at JS and my house. It was fun I guess. lol. We went to McD's for dinner, played some RISK or XBox 360, ate some instant noodles, played more, slept, then they all left and I went home. There were six guys, 5 going into grade 9 and one going into grade 7 I think. He was the most reasonable of them all.

Today I didn't end up doing much. >.> Although getting to chill with AL and RM and BC is pretty sweet. HoverDisc is pretty interesting for a time, but the astonishing flying ring was better. It would win in a fight. Beard and Moustache... Interesting. No thanks. Also, you didn't have any neck hair. >.> Jealous.

Gotta buy a pile of books this week. Gotta go to Orientation for Frosh tomorrow. Gotta study Calculus!!!!!! Fail.

My Day Off.

Hey. What's up?

So, today I had planned to sleep in, work my butt off doing my Bio lab (due Mon) then be able to relax for the rest of the weekend. Instead, I ended up going over to JS's house and jamming with DJ (guitar), CW(drums) and MW(harmonicas, what!?!?). It was pretty cool. I'm pretty bad at improvising, so I just watched the chord progression off of what DJ was playing (now that I play some guitar and kinda know where notes on a guitar are) and just play the tonics. lol But my doing that allowed him to just play around which made it way cooler. lol

In any case, I defintely have to start working on my bio lab because I am busy tommorow helping out with a v-day dinner for married couples and soon to be newly weds which may just include AL and MH unless PE and NL decide to be around..?

So, ya. I got a haircut and this is a fun fact, 83% of the mail I've recieved in the last month or so has been from world vision or power to change or samaritan's purse or other places like that. It's kinda funny.

Ummm. There's this weird sensation of being asleep / numbness in my left arm that comes and goes from my l(checks hands before finishing word)eft hand/arm. It's really weird.

I have yet to recieve any confirmation about whether I'm going to East Asia or not. This is kinda annoying because I can't really start raising support until I know, right? Also, I had never thought of this until today, what if I'm not accepted? Then I actually could do the research job in the summer working with my profs... I should actually apply for it just in case, but I still have a couple days until I'm supposed to for sure hear back from the project people about East Asia...

Yesterday I realized that there are a number of instances where I will have sung a song for a long time and not actually known what the song was about. For example, I'm sure you all know Halleluia. Only on Friday did I realize that the David in the song was King David and that one of the verses was refering to Bathsheba.

Also, a lot of common songs get sung without really fully understanding them. And the more often they are sung, the less meaning they hold sometimes. Christmas songs for example have just become songs in my mind, but we were caroling yesterday and the second or third varses that I didn't really know very well had a lot more meaning than the ones I had known by heart. Those verses I knew were just lyrics to a song, but reading the words I didn't know..... I don't know where I am going with this.... xP

Ya.... xP Pay attention to the words the next time you sing something.

O... I got the "So, you're religious" comment today... xP.... It is weird to hear... I hope to be a good witness to him. xP ML works in Salad Bar / Produce. Today I helped out in Salad Bar for a few hours making veggie platters because Salad Bar was a bit behind because someone was 2.5 hours late to work this morning... but now that I am trained in Salad bar, I don't have to go ask if they need help, they will come to me. xP I'm glad I can be of help. I'm thinking of inviting him to the christmas eve service, but i don't know...

I was going to buy my mom "Despicable Me" for christmas, but then I found out that she had bought it for us. xP We were going to go see it for her birthday in July, but my brother had school and then I saw it with some YA........ I guess I will have to fall back to my original present idea. Shaving my moustache / beard.... I'm growing attached to it though... T.T

I just thought "man I use ellipsises a lot." xP

Ok, so. The other day BJ was trying to guess my middle name. I told her it started with a J. She couldn't get it. I told her it ended with an S and is 5 letters long. Her first 3 guesses after that clue were Judas, Jesus and James. I thought this was funny.

Training..?!

Hey,

I am about to go to work!

You see, so that I can work Thursday, I need training in Salad Bar, so I am going to be working 6:30-12 today. Then I'll beat my Physics exam, then I'll be free to do whatever I want until my exam next Tuesday.

Apparently almost everyone in Salad Bar is going away for Christmas, so I may be getting a number of hours in Salad Bar. xP I really havn't made enough money these last few months, so, this may be a very good oppourtunity. xP plus its gonna be fun. XP

I hope my boss doesn't get too mad at me. I mean, I really want a different job, and I'm gonna have to get a different job in January anyways... >.>

Aclectic Thoughts [Eclectic*]

Heya,

I've got an exam tommorow at 2 pm. Right after this post I'm going to sleep util 7ish then go over the slides for Bio, eat a piece of chocolate, go to school, destroy the exam, go to worship practice, then I think I'm going home. Lol.

I told my brother that I still had my moustache. He said "gross". I said its worse. xP He said how..? I said you'll see.

He will see. xP emphasis on see. Mwahahahahaha.

Anyways, I just got back from watching Bethel Pentecostal's Singing Christmas Tree show. This is the first time that I had gone to it, although I had heard of it before. It was pretty cool. There were all different styles of singing, all different styles of songs, drama, comedy. xP So good. I went with AL and HK.

On Wednesday I did a photoscavanger hunt with the Wednesday YA group in Billings Plaza. I can't believe they would hide the last copy of Bill Clinton's Biography from us... >.> Our team probably lost, but to just avoid arguments and etc we just called it a tie and all had hot chocolate. xP There were a number of really cool pictures especially the guys' mirror shot. Soo good.

I've been thinking lately that next year I should live with some other people. Me, RL, J(?), and J(?). We'd all be second years at Carleton in different programs. xP Plus living in res is not something that people want to pay for, so J(?) will be moving next year for sure, probably. I also want to live with JS and CW. xP There's nothing wrong with my current house mates, I still don't really know them though and everything that one of them does annoys me... >.> Which is not a good attitude to have....... but it's true...

BLOCKUS ga Hoshii!!!

So, ya.

Today after church was the YA christmas party thing. We ate some food. Then the main event happened: the 5$ gift exchange. It got so intense.

There were like 20 people involved in this exchange. but there were only so many covetted gifts. These included : Blockus (so fun. its a board game), a free starbucks drink (any size, any drink), two pillows. That is all. xP. And Everyone wanted Blockus so badly. so badly! also everyone had something else that they wanted individually (I wanted the chopsticks!!!!) On top of this fact there is also the fact that a board game is played with more than one person and that a number of people lived in the same house. So on every round (one person would choose to either open a new gift or steal a previously opened gift) once blockus was stolen the intense trading game began (you could only steal the item once per round and no steal backs). There were alliances back and forth. But you could only have so many people helping you because only people who had chosen a gift so far could steal once stolen from. So we had to wait until our other roomate had started. We would swipe it, they would trade then swipe it, we would trade then swipe it like 20 steals in a turn.... Then because we couldn't lose to them we got like another few guys on our alliance although one was never really helping us, one was only interested in helping his girlfriend and another guy just wanted the pillows. In the end the game went to KP who is the girlfriend of my housemate and also lives with the girls, so its like everyone won. xPPPP All that time and stealing for nothing... xP I got my chopsticks, he got his pillows, she got the starbucks. Everyone (pretty much) got what they wanted. I can't believe we forgot to ask AL to steal for us. xP (LOL.... I just remembered what I told her about why we couldn't trust her, which is not why we didn't. xP) CW was last so he couldn't help.

I understand if you havn't been following that complex explaination... xP

I then made mashed potatoes.

We ate a lot of food.

We saw the Ottawa Christian Chorale's "Unending Song". They were pretty good.

I now have a box spring under my 3 mattresses... xP So high. I HAVE TO jump to get into bed.. xP

My thumb is still bugging me, but not as much...

I just got home.

My housemate RL is having his hair cut at the moment.

He's had Justin Beiber hair for a long while and he is now getting his hair cut like Tae Yang from Big Bang which is quite a difference. Like a good number of inches of hair.

[I have yet to look at it directly though. I find the situation very funny. I also anticipated that if I told him that I wasn't looking at it that he would try to get it within my feild of vision. lol. He did.]

is spent trying to get MY work done so that I can work in the other departments, but I still havn't even written a resume. [I wanted to work somewhere else for a while. Anywhere. When I moved I thought that I should apply at FarmBoy aka in front of my house. I havn't...] I even found my old one and havn't taken the time to update it.... I am just living my life as it comes to me, never really trying to shape my own future...

xP... My chemistry lab partner saw my hair for the first time today. Honestly, this haircut is awesome. Absolutely everyone at work has complimented it, even though I have never had a full conversation with them... My haircut has led to many conversations about C4C, many of which have either led to me saying that I am christian and etc. or them saying how they didn't know C4C was at Carleton, and really, I just like not having to worry about hair, although I really need to shave....... I don't know if I'm going to do the neard or not... I seriously couldn't go outside while I had it and I deffinately couldn't go to work with it...

Various Thoughts

Hey, whats up..?

I don't have much to talk about right now... I think...

So, ya. One thing I've been thinking recently is that I think it's pretty cool that my facial hair is the same length as the hair on the side of my head. xP... I kinda want to shave really badly, but at the same time I feel it would look funny with no facial hair... xP

I've also been thinking about the 'neard' aka the neck beard. I've heard both HK and DK say that it is the most disgusting type of facial hair ever and I deffinately agree, partially because I really hate the hair on my neck and partially because it really is... Anyways I've been thinking "I should grow a neck beard just to see HK and DK's reactions... xP" xP... but at the same time I don't think that I'd be able to go outside while I had it because it is just so gross and disgusting that everybody would be staring at me............... so... i don't know........ I could deffinately grow it, but it's so gross.....

I'm fine with people staring at my head. I can't see it. I actually often forget that my head is shaved when I don't see my reflection for a while. I remember when someone acts differently then normal, usually by petting my head.... xP

So, ya..... ummm. I just saw a sign for the VSA meet and greet (VSA meaning Vietnamese Students Association) and remembered that AL joined it / was going to join it. Then I read the poster. Well, actually the smaller print is what made me read it. I was walking through Loeb and was reading signs and saw "Bubblecity" so I went back and read the sign. "VSA Meet and Greet Oct 16 at Bubblecity". "So that's why AL joined the VSA!" was my first thought. ._. xP

Also, I have just become aware that JB has a blog. I will be stalking it.

Also, I'm really bored right now, so I think I will go upstairs at the Duntun Tower. All the way, up, stairs. xP Should be both a waste of time and very entertaining.

Part 1

So, I do want to recreate that post... It won't be exactly the same, but I still think it would be worth sharing.

So, the first point was that I get to go to Winter Conference at the end of December! It's a C4C event that takes place in Toronto for five days. We stay in hotels and everything. We also do some training and door to door evangelism.

JB said it was really cool even though she was pushed out of her comfort zone (which may seem bad at the time, but is usually good. That is how we grow.). So, ya... I think JB is pretty cool. She always seems level headed...

Anyways... WC might be a bit expensive... XP......... I'm gonna have to either use the food money my parents have been giving me (they are giving me way too much money for food, but I don't even want to use it...) or just work a bit more (not a desire of mine, unless a get a fun new job! =D which I can't really get until my hair grows back...) ... DX

Moustache Month: "Movember"

So, the other day I registered for 'Movember'. Through the month of November you grow a moustache starting from clean shaved on November 1st to raise awareness / donations for Prostate Cancer.

I registered because I had briefly heard of it a few times and JK and JW said they were going to participate (except that they plan on cheating.... By starting their moustaches in mid October. XP)

I am going to be legit and start clean shaved on November 1st, however I don't know how full my moustache will become...

Hey, so...

We just got back from Summit.

Overall, it was a great experience. We got to spend a lot of time with the C4C people from Carleton and bonded. I suppose the more outrageous a stunt the bigger the audience's reaction, right? Well does the same go for relationships..? Like, everyone shaving their heads really brings people together. Or stealing the 'goose' that had already been stolen and painting it / giving it wings and having a photoshoot with it. xP And all the random cheering! "1! We are the Ravens! 2! A little bit louder! 3! I still can't hear you! 4! More, MOre, MORE! x4+" or "Caaaaarrrrrrlllll-tooooooooonnnnn x8+"

The worship team was pretty cool. The bass player was cool. He was asian, played bass, and sang harmonies! I was kinda being affected by my being sick and couldn't sing high notes very well, which was kinda annoying because the key was awkward for guys... xP I didn't care how terrible I sounded. I just sang as hard as I could! Now I have experienced the whole "it isn't about how good you sound when worshipping" idea.

Also, first impressions aren't always right. There's this girl I met a week or two ago. Her first impression was that of a quiet shy girl. I got a completely different impression this weekend.

Also, I don't really have a mohawk anymore, or rather it's a really short mohawk... xP I can't gel it anymore... I wanted it a bit shorter, but now it's too short... I shall have to let it grow out and have something between a mohawk and a fauxhawk...



Anyways, VS drove us home. I opened the door and a puppy runs at us!!! It's sooooooo cute!!! It's here for the weekend, but other than that I don't know anything about it. I think it's nails are too long though... and we have no carpets except an area in the living room and a couple rooms downstairs.

RL is kinda scared of it.... xP He saw it coming towards him, so he stood on top of a stool. xP

I Appear to be a Pack Mule... >.>

So. It is now October and I am finally going to my first C4C event. It's gonna be crazy! I may even get a mohawk. XP...

So... Ya. I am now on the 117 going to school for the purpose of leaving the province. I am very glad that the bus is not packed right now........

A few minutes ago I just carried two sleeping bags, two pillows and one very... VERY stuffed bag to the bus stop. The reason for this is that RL, my housemate, is also going to summit but has class until around 5 today, which is when we are leaving and instead of carrying it around all day he asked me to bring them...

I almost never say no unless there is a legitamate reason like I'm doing something already. I'm always happy to help just that sometimes I help too much..? XP...

So, ya. It's almost summit time!

I'm still kinda sick.... XP and I don't really have any cold medicine, just medicine for a fever... So If I get a fever, I'll get better; and if I don't get a fever, I'll be getting better. XP.......

Experimental Cooking

So, hey.

Today we didn't do much. I slept in until 10. xP It was labour day. We went to rideau to return RL's headphones. Then we went with HZ to K(?)'s dorm at the University of Ottawa. HZ cut RL's hair. lol. We just hung out for a bit then went home. RL falls asleep on buses. xP When we got home we were very hungry.

This led to us making spaghetti. RL went shopping with his dad yesterday. He bought a couple jars of sauce and some ground beef. We both were going to eat it, so I had to contribute something too. I put an onion, a carrot, a tomato, and cheese into the sauce. We also used my spaghetti, so overall, like 6$ from RL and like 2.50$ from me. xP I did cook it though, and do the dishes... xP

Today RL's older sister CL texted him saying something like "treat Dylan with respect, he's not your slave." xP This was earlier in the morning. It's still funny though. xP

Me and RL bought a gift for HK. I think she will like it. xP

Like today I 'played' pokemon and yugioh/zatchbell with this grade 1 kid. We were definatley playing by his rules, both because he was 6 years old and because he had chinese cards, so I couldn't complain even if I wanted to. I lost both times, needless to say.

I'm one of 7 people from our church that are at the grade 1-2 vacation bible school. They are really cute and only like 5 of the 33 are kinda annoying. The grade 1s are ridiculous, but the grade 2s are pretty cool. Me and 3 others are in charge of the grade 2s. There are 11. The thing is that 2 of them don't speak english very well and there's one crazy kid. We've been having mostly asian food with rice. Its all been tasty. We just got back from the Brooklyn Tabernacle Prayer meeting. It was very intense. Everyone keeps telling me things like "roaming charges are 2$ per minute that your phone is on" and stuff, so my phone has been off most of the time. I'll talk to you later.

“So, today was the third day of vbs here and, ya, it's been a long one... I guess.
All my clothes and even my sheets are getting smeely, so I washed some of my clothes. They are in the dryer right now.

We went into town and walked over the Brooklyn Bridge and walked around and stuff.
I have my hair in a gel-less fauxhawk too by the way.

We don't get to watch the "Who Wants To Be A Superhero" videos anymore because they are a bit too much for 6 year olds... >.>

So, there's just one day left.

RL is depressing me and tommorow is gonna be really sad because all these kids are really cool. I love these kids yo.

I suppose, well, I definately believe that this is a different situation then normal. I mean, normally I'm shy and stuff, but I've actually talked to and bonded with so many of them. T.T I'm pretty sure that I might cry tommorow...

I really want to like hug all of them tommorow. >.>

So, ya. Today was the last day of the vbs. It was sad seeing all the kids leave and the skit was kinda messy, but today was good overall. I made a cape and mask! "Dynamite Dylan". Basically, Gambit's powers of exploding things, but more flashy. XP... I made it up only for the alliteration... >.>

We also went shopping today. I have no US money left now. Poor CC...

So, ya... We are now wasting time staying up playing board / card games while listening to worship songs. We will likely stay up all night.
