"FOOT FETISH"
*double take* "What did that say..?" but I kept going because I did have to get to Physics (have to..? that's up to debate.)
Anyways, a couple days later I have the same morning schedule, so I went the same way and stopped to read the poster. The poster consisting of a picture of feet with the words "FOOT FETISH" in bold, large, centered letters was actually about the CU foot patrol. There wasn't much info on the poster except that if you volunteer so many hours you would get a free t-shirt, so I was interested in discovering more about this "foot patrol".
So, today I went online, googled "Carleton foot patrol", and found their website. The foot patrol is a "student-run, volunteer based campus safe-walk and patrol service." So, even though the add is rather sketchy... hehe. The actual organization is a good thing. xP [I kinda really want to volunteer for them. xP]
So, ya. I didn't blog yesterday. Why not..? Oh, right. Work until 10 and honestly I need more sleep, so I really need to try going to sleep early on days like that, and tuesdays... xP.... stupid schedule... >.>
Yesterday I sat beside two asians. One kept speaking Chinese to her friends behind her, so I didn't really meet her at all, and the other was nice. She is in integrated sciences and likes physics... ewwww. xP... She got a 70 in summer school calc apparently. Not that I'm making any conclusions from that. xP I also met her friend who is taking russian. o.0
Today I met another couple asians. xP In my group for bio labs there is an asian who has the same name as KC. lol. Another K! xP KC thinks they might have the same last name too. xP He apparently facebook searched for himself and found another few, one which also was in ottawa.
So, ya. In my bio group, there are like 6 people. I was sitting beside two. One white guy and one asian guy. I was very happy that there was an asian in my group. xP I was actually kinda ignoring the other guy... >.> The way he was talking reminded me of someone I couldn't really stand talking to. I thought he reminded me of JA, but I suppose he's more like SS-W, but not really. He actually seems nice... I was just kinda ignoring him...
So, we were all supposed to sign up for a Science Student Success Center mentoring session. I signed up online for one at 3. It said my mentor was Bruce I think. I thought "awwww.... i don't think he's asian..." I got to the SSSC 20 minutes early, so they just chose one of the people already there. Asian. Yuss. But the mentoring session was so boring. Really it is more for people who don't know what they are doing, so he told me to come back if I needed anything.
I got free pizza later because I went to another workshop. I actually didn't register this time... xP
Anyways.... I got to FILM half an hour ealry this time. It didn't fill up as quickly as i thought it would have. I hear there are lots of 2nd and 3rd year students in it for an easy A. xP... Today we watched Casablanca.
So, ya...

Champignons..?
One Piece was boring.
Worship was kinda boring... I can't really compete with Pastor DB or JB's vocals... so I was mostly just playing bass.
The camping trip is this week. I still have to pick songs for worship on the trip and buy Saturday's lunch by Wednesday night. So far I have chosen 4 songs. I think... Amazing Love, Mighty to Save, Son of God and Take Me In. I like these songs and I'm sure AL knows them. The thing is funny because I have to choose songs, but AL will be playing guitar, so I have to make sure she knows them... but in reality I have to choose songs that most people will know because there will be no projector with lyrics, so ya... she'll probably know all the songs we'll be singing.
The new york missions trip is in like two weeks... I have to start memorizing lines for the skits and apparently I have to choose activities and learn how to be a group leader too. I really just wanted to teach math... xP
So. ya... I had to go to work today...
I'm pretty sure my ankle/foot is fine now. I think it's just the bruise which is why it still hurts a bit sometimes.
Have I told you that CW's driving can get quite scary..? Hehe... How does driving at 80 km/h while digging into shwarma with both hands sound..? Half an eye on the road, mouth full of shwarma, both hands holding the rest of the shwarma. This was slightly extreme, but it did happen. In his boss' truck no less, but ya... I've only seen this happen once, and it was a pretty straight road, and there was no one else around to crash into, and it wasn't for that long, but ya... it's still kinda scary... xP
Here is a song I've heard like 3 times in the last 2 days. Lead Me by Sanctus Real.

Sketchy Medical Treatment
I will start this post by again saying that my day was boring. However there was a few interesting things.
I woke up. Made kinda tasteless scrambled eggs. Watched anime. Called work. Watched anime. Did laundry. Watched anime. Made soy/lemon/chicken/ginger/curry rice using ingredients in my house. It was pretty good. Shoyu wa oishii desu yo. Watched anime. Cleaned the kitchen, mostly because my brother has been cleaning the house because he wants money... Watched anime. Ate supper. Watched anime. Did a bible study. Read memory verses. Watched an anime movie which ended in a cliffhanger....... There's going to be another movie eventually...
So. Yesterday my mom told me that when I wake up this morning to call work and tell them I couldn't go. She wanted me to take a sick day which I had never done before. I called. Asked to speak to my boss. I told him I would be unable to work today because I sprained my ankle and he thanked me for calling. I found it strange that it was so easy... I hope they found someone to cover my shift....... I would have gone in if they needed me......
So, ya. In my room there is a vent for A/C and heating. Since my house is always freezing, the vents are always pumping out cold air, right? So I covered the vent with a shirt and put my foot under it. xP This is the medical treatment for my foot. Cold air. I have yet to see any actual physician about my 'sprained' ankle, but it feels better I guess... It's more blue/purple then yesterday, but less swollen and more moveable. There must be a lot of blood in my foot to bruise all the way around from the top of my toes to my ankle on all sides... ... it's kinda gross thinking about all that blood in my foot.......
Ya. Lunch was tasty. I sauteed onions and garlic in olive oil then added curry powder, cayenne pepper, cumin and ginger powder (it would have been better with real ginger, but I didn't have any...). Then I added the rice with chicken stock, soy sauce and water (only because I didn't have enough chicken stock...). I added fresh chives from our backyard (we planted them like 5 or more years ago and some are still growing each year...) and half a lemon of lemon juice. I also kinda kept adding the spices and soy... a lot more of each. Hehe. It was tasty.
I admit I've been watching too much anime. I just have too much free time... and I could make some excuses like today was a sick day I'm supposed to do nothing and give medical treatment to my injury, which I can do while watching anime (My foot is cold... >.>), but ya... It is a bit too much...
I finished reading 'Mere Christianity'. It is a good book, but I don't read much so I don't know how good my review really is. As I was reading I deffinately agreed with almost everything if not everything he was saying. The point of the book, which was originally a series of radio talks was to explain clearly, to the war stricken British people, what Christians believe. So although it is very good at explaining, it doesn't really go very deep into things, or say anything that would be very controversial and he starts off in a very roundabout way of saying things. I found his explainations very good in general, but I don't really like history / war (which many of his comparisons were centered on) so I was kinda... okay I'm indifferent about them because they were good examples. So, ya, I'd recommend it, but it's deffinately aimed at beginners, although I suppose if you have become 'advanced' in your faith this could always backup the foundation or something..?
I'm gonna sleep.
Ttyl.

Tempted
Today is Tuesday.
First of all, MY HAIR IS GONE! Yay! So, I was talking to a friend on the way home from school and I think I was behaving slightly irrationally about my hair... xP Sorry. But now it's Gone! But now its really short... hmmm. We'll see.
Oh, I got cut from the baseball team. That's not necessarily a bad thing... I mean my life is busy enough and I wasn't all that great in the try-outs. Like, some of the other guys were super competative and Way better then me. xP Anyways, now I can focus on the other pressing issues in my life such as the musical, or physics projects, or japanese projects, or other things... I'm going to play softball this year with the Parkwood Hills Softball Association anyways, and that's way more fun, so I'm not upset at all. Apparently MR is playing this year too, so I hope I'm on her team, it will be fun. xP
So, ya. I kinda want new glasses and / or contacts. Glasses really are annoying sometimes... Mine are pretty scratched now.. xP I think it's actually more painful wearing them then not wearing them... I actually get 30% off at hakim optical as a union benefit, so why not use it..?
Oh, my foot is kinda bugging me.. Since after last Thursday my (looks at hands) right foot has been bugging me. Like, it hurts when I bend my toes. When I put my hand on the top of my foot and move my toes I can feel this viscous semi-liquid moving and then I feel really weird.. xP. I don't like blood btw... like I can see the veins in my arm, and you can like press down on them with your thumb at the elbow then slide your thumb up to your wrist then watch the blood rush down and feel it too. I get the same uneasy sensation from feeling the liquid in my foot move. xP It's probably just bruised and the clotted blood is the semi-liquid, but it's really bugging me.. xP
So, I just watched Glee for the first time. It was being advertised all over animecrazy.net for some reason, so I ended up watching it... xP It's a really weird show. I will not be making time for it in my regular schedule. I actually fell asleep near the end of it. The main appeal of the show to me was that Rachael (I don't know how to spell Racheal btw) looks exactly like this girl at my school (HRD). She's actually leader of the Gleeks at MHS and has the same range and I swear they have the same face. The thing about the show is that it's really shallow. So I start watching the show and Racheal is Finn's girlfriend or whatever, I don't know why, but Finn doesn't really care. So, a couple cheerleaders ask Finn out and he immediately breaks up with Racheal. About a minute later she's really angry and sings "Gives You Hell" by the AAR. Right after the song she just happens to meet this other guy and now they are a couple, but they are the leaders of the glee clubs at different schools, so the whole glee club tells her to break up with him or quit the glee club. It really made very little sense and was way too compacted. I am not a Gleek.
Tommorow Sr. Concert band and Dixie band are playing a gig at Bethel Pentecostal. We miss the afternoon of school and get free food. I will probably blog about band tommorow.
Anyways, I want to sleep, so, ttyl.

Trying to Move Forward
Ok. So.
There were two main events today. My brother "running away" if you can call it that. I still don't understand what happened... and "One Day Without Shoes" which was pretty intense. I think I took the idea a bit far and at the same time my feet don't hurt that much. I mean they aren't bleeding... ='( I was almost sure they would be, but I guess my feet are strong.
"Running Away"-
So. My parents left yesterday after I left for school. I get back my brother has made a bit of a mess in the kitchen / living room. He wants Wendy's for supper. I say "only if you clean up the kitchen / living room" or something. I go and come back. I had to walk, but its just a couple blocks, so whatever. When I get back, it appears clean again. It isn't really, just that the mess has been piled up in a less visible area.
So we have dinner in separate rooms. Then he goes to sleep. So the rest of the night I'm like blogging and stuff not paying attention to him. I go to sleep at like 11 and wake up at 5. I had to wake up to get him to school for the literacy test and everything. When I wake up the shower/bathroom is still a tiny bit wet. This is the only sign that he had been there at all recently. I couldn't find him anywhere. So at 6 or something I call my parents and tell them he's gone. Immediately after I get a text from my brothers ex-girlfriend "Is ___ in your house?" or soemthing.
Apparently he'd been planning for a while to run away and last night at 8 pm he said he was leaving. She didn't believe him so when he started texting her at 5:30 am she didn't know if he had actually left or not and texted me to verify. Anyways, I'm watching Bleach and eating Nuttella while stuck in the middle of this 3-way conversation between my brother's ex and me and my parents and me with information from either conversation being talked about in the other conversation.
My parents who were going to get back Saturday morning now start plannin gto get back asap, so I could no longer tell them anything because they don't have cell phones... They were using email to "text" me.
I decide to go to school to study reasoning that I'll get more studying / homework done there than at home alone.
At lunch I was sitting in the caf(etorium) with my brother's ex. She's sitting there nervously twitching and texting with all caps every minute to get my brother to text back and her friend is having a less serious problem but is also quite consumed by it. Something like her boyfriend is avoiding her friends or something because they don't like him..? My brother's ex skips last period to stay in the caf worrying.
By this point we had some responses. He had said "I'm too far away for you to come", "not in Ottawa", "I'm 3 hours away by bus and I'll be 3 hours further once you get there", and other comments, mostly useless answers that disclose no information, like "no where" as a response to "where are you?"
Eventually she tells me that he was coming back.
After Musical rehearsal (just an italian run-through with new lighting cues to test out. An Italian Run is when you go through a play really fast, so the dances and songs were really funny.. xP) I had time to go home before band. When I got home I didn't see my brother. Then suddenly I did. It appeared as though he had been there a while, two different soups, nuttella, and a jug of fruit juice had been consumed... I asked "where were you?" a few too many times in a louder voice then was necessary, and he answered "no where" and got a bit too angry. He calmed down, I had instant noodles and then I went to band.
My parents got home at about 8:45 pm. I got home at 9:45. I still don't understand what happened. He could have just hidden really well... or maybe he left and came back..?
One Day Without Shoes-
So, I will now tell the side of the story from my feet's perspective, almost.
So, I wake up at 5 am. Thinking that I have to get my brother up, etc. Then I remember I have to put out the garbage and recycling. I figure, if he's in the house, putting out the garbage isn't going to change anything, so I go to put it out.
This is when I remember the first obstacle for my bare feet. In the winter one layer of our window fell off and broke then got covered my snow and then frozen into the ice. This had only recently been dealt with and there were still bits of glass on the ground. I had known that getting out of hte house would be where I would get cut or step on broken glass, but I never thought I'd have to go over the area of broken glass repeatedly.
There were four full bins of recycling and two bags of garbage, so I had to take three trips back and forth over the glass. I had thought this would be one of the most difficult parts of my day with no shoes. It was not.
So I decide to go to school. I packed my shoes just incase I really needed them or was too weak to last all day. So I had to walk to school. Its normally around 10-15 minutes walking to school and the weather was not the best, it was scattered showers and 10 degrees or something. I learned very quickly of the choice I had to make: I could walk on the dryer, but more painful stabby asphault or the squishy, colder grass/mud. I chose the mud and kinda ran to school.
My feet were getting really cold... I thought of almost nothing other then frostbite most of the way. Stuff like "Is One Day Without Shoes so important that I lose a foot for it..?" but I'd reply "It's just One day." There are people who go day to day with no shoes, getting cuts and scrapes and infection, what is one day of that to me..?
When I get to school I go to the library becaus ehtere's carpet. xP I had to pass the principal and he said "I know we take pride in our school, but that's one thing I would never do: walk around bare foot in the school." or something.*
My feet had just thawed out when period two began.
I had been invited to hang out with the few people who would be in attendance to the vocals class. The class is mostly grade 10s so the class was cancelled. We decided to go to McDonalds.
There's a difference between asphault and sidewalk. Sidewalks are more commonly smooth. The sidewalks to McDonalds weren't bad. You know the old "no shirt, no shoes, no service" or whatever right? I knew at some point someone would deny me the right to do something because of my shoes, that's why I planned ahead and packed them in my bag. At McDonalds they didn't care. xP On the way back it was raining...
We get back, Period three begins, I go study for Biology, I have lunch in the caf, period four begins, me and his ex stand on stage as the director finishes inputting the lighting cues into the computer, I have musical rehearsal until four-ish. After that I walked home with my trombone, well, I ran on the grass again.
I get home, bring the recycling bins into the house (one trip =D) then the whole thing with my brother, I ate instant noodles then got ready to go to band. By now it was pouring...
I had planned to take the bus to band because my parents were out of town and couldn't give me a drive like normal. When I got on the bus the bus driver told me that I have to wear shoes to ride the bus. I explained that they were in my bag, but he said they have to be on my feet before I get on the bus, and so I was kicked off the bus.... This ticked me off. There wouldn't be another bus for 20 minutes and I had to be at BHS before 7pm for the rehearsal. It was 6:20 when the bus showed up.
This left me with one option. Walk. In the rain, with my trombone, and with my nonwaterproof windbreaker.
It was another "if I can imagine the whole way there it can't be that far" situation so I thought I could get there if I tried.
So, I began running down the street. I got a lot of weird looks. xP It was pouring and I was running down the road with a trombone and no shoes going through puddles and running through the "stop walking" signals. I just kept thinking "it's just ONE day."
I got there at 6:54. I apparently ran 4.3 km. When I got there I was soaked through. I walked into the band room and everyone looks at me. The teachers are all worried because my clothes are wet. My folder got "pulped" at the corner, but all the music was fine.
It was actually pretty cool that I ran all the way there, but sometimes there wasn't a grassy option and I had to run on the pavement, but its over now. Fun times.
I got a ride back, don't worry. xP
When I got home I took a shower and scrubbed my feet then came downstairs to post this blog.
So, Ya. I'm going to sleep. Bye.
*If you havn't noticed yet I'm bad at remembering word for word quotes.
