Identity

Hey!

So, if you didn't know, I am really bad at taking breaks, at resting when there are things to do, and there are always things to do, so I basically don't take time off. However, it's because of the constant amount of work that I am always supposed to be working on something that I end up getting really burnt out all the time and so I crave escape, I desire to get away from it and so procrastination takes over. This helps in no way because it's not restful and it's just making the time that I have to work on things less.

However, I also want to spend time with certain people in my life. Often this ends up being another thing I need to do work for, to prepare (to a degree) and I lose sleep because it's often in the morning and I don't wanna let them down, so I try getting there early. Then I can spend time in the Bible, reading God's word, which with a heavy schedule and no 'free time' is often forgotten, which sucks. lol. But, ya, even the time I spend with the people I want to spend time with often ends up being work. I want to change this, a little anyways.

RL is one person that I am trying to spend more time with. It's inconsistent, and the time isn't really being spend the best it could be, but it's good. We go to the gym together (although he also goes another 3 times each week, so he beats me at everything we do. >.<) sometimes, but we never really get to talk or anything. I'm praying for him every week, both for him and his family. Yesterday we also went to a coffeehouse at Ottawa Chinese Alliance Church near China town.

It was really good. I didn't actually spend time with RL though... lol. I spent time with JJ a bit and got to see MY and JW and FL and met a few people. It was really good. MC, KC, C(X?), and LG did a performance of Le Crae's Identity. (The following is just a video with the song and lyrics, not an MV)

I think their version was better. lol. =D

There was a bit of a talk from Pastor D(?) and there were a bunch of songs and a really cool dance / skit thingee. lol. There were also a couple testimonies. One in specific was really powerful. It kinda confused RL at first. lol. It was by this guy who was a mixed child who also was born in a different country and so to begin with he was unsure of who he was, which part to associate with. Additionally he was a bit different. But he knew how the 'world' would react to his difference. In fact he heard his dad joke about it one day when watching a tv drama. By the age of twelve he knew he was gay. But he had also grown up Christian. In the end it was really cool seeing how he can place his identity in God, trusting that He is all sufficient, that He provides all we need. If he is being called to be celibate that's cool, he will live for God in everything trusting that His plan is best, but if he is called to a relationship God will provide the right woman. 'Marriage is between man and woman like the relationship between Christ and the Church, not man and man as Christ and Christ, not woman and woman like Church and Church.' In any case, it was really powerful.

Ya. Last Friday the topic at Weekly Meeting was also about finding our identity in Christ.

Also, you'll find out soon that there is something else I'm working on that is related. xP

In him we are children of God, part of the true vine of Jesus' life, chosen and appointed to bear fruit, reconciled to God by Jesus, God's workmanship, righteous and holy, dearly loved, a son of light, justified and forgiven of all sin, free forever from condemnation, have the Spirit living in us, have the mind of Christ, alive in Christ, blessed with every spirtual blessing, adopted as children of God, made complete, being sanctified into His image; we are a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come. All of our brokenness and wrongs have been paid for and forgiven and we have new life.

Annyways, Ttyl.
