Independent Failure

So, ya.

I think you're all tired of hearing my schedule by now. So, I'll skip to the main points.

I'm getting better at Mad World. I also found out that the left hand for the verses is 2nd time only. xP, but that was never the really hard part... the chorus has the left hand doing quarter notes, while the right hand is syncapated and the two parts overlap (in terms of pitches) unless I octave them, but that would sound funny...

I made lunch again. Bsically the same, but with salsa (still no tomatoes) and an apple instead of cheese / crackers.

The bible study today was about Self-Dependence and relying on the Lord. How without Him you dry up spiritually, fight spiritual battles with worldly weapons (ie, because of this you fail...) and weaken your witness and service for Christ.

So, basically, for a long time I've felt like I'm not ready for baptism for one main reason, that I'm too weak and give into temptation too easily. I felt like until I was stronger (more 'self-controlled') I couldn't face God. So I'd always try to, on my own, resist temptation longer, but it never worked. These last few studies have been about fighting satan with the word and relying on the Lord.

John 15:5-6
I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

Apart from Jesus I cannot fight against temptation, I can do nothing. The branches that are no longer attached to the main body dry up and are weaker. They can't fight against being thrown into the fire (sin). But while they are on the tree they can draw from the strength of the branches it is attached too and is far harder to pull off and won't burn easily.

Anyways... I enjoy these daily bible studies.

I really need to sleep now though... I have to be at work in 7.75 hours........... but it was my choice... It's better to work the morning shift so I can go to YF.
