Two Strangers in a Strange Church

Yo. Another kinda lazy Saturday. Probably not as productive as I could be.

Ended up playing a bit of Plants vs Zombies, going to Costco with FB and JB, and now we just had pizza and will be going to the movies in about an hour.

Anyways, as I promised, I will now tell a story that I was too tired to tell the last time. XP

So last Sunday after church I planned to go to a Chinese church and then chill around for a little while and go to another church in the evening.

I walked like 40 minutes, not bad, but then the girl at the door told me that the service was only in Mandarin... >.< Oh well.

So I had a lot more time to do nothing. Haha. So I was like writing up my thoughts on a Bible passage.

But where I was sitting had a bunch of mosquitos, so I ended up walking over to the church around 3:30, like 3 hours early.

But then a girl came by to like babysit for one of the worship team members who were practicing at like 4. So we talked breifly, but I ended up reading all the stuff on the walls.

At some point a girl walked in and was kinda freaking out a bit. She ended up asking if she could borrow my phone. She had left her keys in her car and her spare key and phone and everything.

She asked very politely but with an air of desperateness if she could borrow my phone to text someone. See, these days, with cell phones, no one remembers other people's numbers; the phone alone knows. So the only person she knew she texted.

He was far away.

He suggested calling CAA. So she went off and used the church's phone (1-800 number). She came back disappointed. 'The card holder needs to be here in person'. While she had been away I recalled my dad giving me a CAA card, but I probably left it at home, I mean, the car is in Ottawa, what do I need a CAA card for?

I had one.

So she called back using my phone and a long phone call later we were outside on the curb waiting.

She had overheard me say I was from Ottawa to the CAA lady and told me she had gone to school there for a few years, now working as a dental technician, which is sweet. XP Then the guy arrived.

Paperwork.

Then he drove us over (we had to both sit in the front seat. "nice to meet you" was my line after getting out of the truck.) and with little time had opened the door and retreived her keys.

She was very thankful for all th help I had provided. I was just glad I could help. I had no idea what I was gonna do for a few hours before church, but this was sweet. She wanted to repay me. I really didn't need it or want it, but she insisted, so I ended up getting a large frozen lemonade from Timmies.

I wish I needed to go to the dentist while I was here. XP.

Maybe I'll run into her sometime.

I remember praying for her while she was flustered and texting. Wish I had shared more about how it was God's love and faithfulness that had propelled me to act like that.

She was kinda French too. XP. Remimded me of a classmate.

There was a cross on her rearview mirror.

Anyways, I pray God would become more real in Julie's life and I thank God for using me to help her that day. May she walk into more churches in need, and find more help and salvation in Christ.

Ttyl.
