So, ya. Me and AL were having a conversation. In this conversation we were talking about how I show try writing a song. I was like "I'm not very good at writing songs, I assume." This is because I havn't really ever tried. I feel that if I did it would be very cliche and rhyme. lol.
Anyways, AL suggested using "Audacity" a program where you can record yourself a number of times and then layer the harmonies because I said I felt like you have to know how to play guitar to write songs. Without a guitar you wooldn't have chords or a key...
This all started a coversation like, "You should get Audacity!" "I used to have Audacity. *cry*" "My brother's computer had Audacity" It then came down to "Do you have a mic..?" "If you don't have a mic, then I guess there's no point in having Audacity..."
At some point I was like "What does the word Audacity mean..?" We didn't know and RM wasn't around / RM doesn't have a cell phone / if we called his home phone it would accomplish nothing... but I felt like it had a meaning that would fit into the sentences we were saying.
Webster defines* Audacity as the following:
Main Entry: au·dac·i·ty
Pronunciation: \ȯ-ˈda-sə-tē\
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural au·dac·i·ties
Etymology: Middle English audacite, from Latin audac-, audax
Date: 15th century
1 : the quality or state of being audacious: as a : intrepid boldness b : bold or arrogant disregard of normal restraints
2 : an audacious act —usually used in plural
synonyms see temerity
Now that you know what it means, reread the sentences above, both with the program and with the actual meaning. lol. Pretty funny.
"Hey AL, I think you have Audacity. Maybe if I had more Audacity I would have a girlfriend. Hmm... but apparently I don't have the Audacity to write a song."

I like this song.
*I feel like "Webster defines ___ as..." is a ridiculous phrase and far too cliche.
Um, thanks, I think.
ReplyDeleteI like how you said "We didn't know and RM wasn't around", and then don't explain why you would want him to be around or why this is the same as not knowing the meaning of 'Audacity'... It is probably really confusing for anyone who doesn't know him or about the times we had similar problems and the events that transpired that would explain your sentence.
lol. it's a mystery..!
