"Hey AL. I still don't have a girlfriend. I have a bunch of friends though."
So, today was Friday. The last Friday of normal high school. At the end of the day RM said something like "this will be the last time a bell dictates where I should be."
Ya. For the past week I've been spending every spare second trying to track down everyone I know so I can get them to sign my yearbook. During Calculus, instead of studying like maybe one other person in the room, I 'calculated' how many signatures I have 'collected', 'need' and 'maybe' might get. I calculated that I had 'collected' about 200 signatures and only 'needed' about 40 more, although I might get as many as 120 more.
The only problem is that there is only one half-day left. You can't be sure who will be there and no one will actually be in classes.
Also, yesterday, I think, I had been emailed the program for the assembly. 1. Safari Adventure Bikers (aka. the 'band' I'm in) wasn't on the program, and 2. My email was the contact for the Swing Kids..? Apparently no one had done anything about this and I had to locate the people in charge because AdSB didn't know what they look like and VB and AL were both busy. So, at lunch after handing my yearbook to someone I'd scour the area around it until it was done being signed and then moved to another person and repeated until I found one of the people in charge. She said everything had been worked out.
The dress rehearsal was afterschool. I had left the bass / amp in the staff room all day because I got to school before the music room was open and would be using it after it would be closed and the staff room is pretty close to the caf (where the rehearsals were), so it was a pretty good spot. I'm kinda sick now, so I can't really sing like I normally do... When I get sick I can't sing the higher octave very well, and I dislike the lower octave so.... ya...
After the dress rehearsal I had work. There wasn't much to do so I had time to think about stuff.
I ended up thinking about westfest. Then I thought about inviting NB, who I invited by Facebook, but I wanted to make sure she got the invite. Apparently some people don't check their facebook accounts much (me included).
The thing was that I didn't have NB's phone number and I was at work...
So, I wanted to text her, but I needed her number first. So I went to my contacts list and texted 15 people that I thought would have a chance of having her number.
This resulted in about half of them replying "Who are you..?" There were also "I don't even know who that is" and "No, I don't"s. Only two replies were relatively helpful.
JB replied "who are you? you should try asking SB." But I didn't have SB's number either, so I asked for the number of someone who would have SB's number. She replied with EM's number and SD's number. I texted both of them. I then recieved a text saying "Your text to landline was a sucess" or something. ie it was a home phone number... both of them actually...
BH also replied "Who is this? and no." but after I told him who I was I asked him if he had CM's number because CM and NB are in the same grade, are both singers, and BH is in CM's vocal class, so he probably had her number.
BH did have CM's number and CM did have NB's number.
Sucess.
So, I invited her. A number of texts later, she said she would have to ask her parents if she could get a ride and also it would depend if she had finished studying by then, but that's pretty good.
The whole trying to get her number thing took like an hour... I had to text stealthily because I was at work and I wasted like 3 pairs of rubber gloves because you just can't answer your cell phone while wearing rubber gloves covered in a medley of fruit juices (I was making fruit salads at the time). I ended up also inviting TS because I had to explain to him why I needed NB's number.
So, ya. That was cool. The facebook event page is kinda sad though... I know a lot of the people on the "Not Attending" list... I also invited MM and VC once I got home and VC said she'd try to go if she's not busy. I havn't seen her in like half a year.
So, ya... I'm tired now... *cough*
